Egyptians March In Support Of Occupy Oakland

American politicians and pundits have scoffed at the notion that there’s any connection to be drawn between the Occupy Wall Street protests and the “Arab Spring” of the past year. At least some involved in the Middle East uprisings would disagree. From journalist Mohammed Maree, via Boing Boing:

As they vowed earlier this week to do, Egyptian protesters marched from Tahrir square to the U.S. Embassy [on Friday] in support of Occupy Oakland—and against police brutality witnessed in Oakland on Tuesday night, and commonly experienced in Egypt.

Thank you for this article, reporting on things like this is what the world needs more of.

Its not that things like this don’t happen often, its just that it doesn’t suit the network news agenda.

To the Egyptians who support us….THANK YOU….The Egyptians know how to take care of business when it comes to corrupt goons.  An ‘off with their head’ policy needs to be implemented into this country to take care of our problematic and corrupt so called leaders.

  13. I wonder what would happen if somebody staged a Occupy Riad thing in Saudi Arabia? The protester would probably get flogged in public…

Forget Riad -They should try Occupy Mecca, there’s that nice square and everything! – that would really put some sand in the royal Saudi panties.
