Eleven Percent Of Americans On Antidepressants

Prozac PillsGiven the established link between SSRIs and suicide, should we expect suicide rates to spike similarly? From USA Today:

The rate of antidepressant use among Americans of all ages increased nearly 400 percent over the last two decades, and 11 percent of Americans aged 12 and older now take antidepressant drugs, according to a federal government report released Wednesday.

The analysis of 2005-2008 data from the U.S. National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys also showed that antidepressants are the third most common prescription drug taken by Americans of all ages and the most frequently used by those aged 18 to 44.

Of people with severe depression, about one-third takes antidepressant medication. More than 60 percent of Americans taking an antidepressant drug have taken it for two years or longer and nearly 14 percent have taken the medication for 10 years or more, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention researchers.

Important story. But… the parts you have in block quotes are not actually quotes from the story. They seem to be paraphrased. Did Disinfo get a cease and desist order? lol

The only explanation I have is that USA Today must have edited the story since I cut and pasted the block quote. No cease and desist!

Note that the CDC is not so concerned with depression as it is concerned with anti-depressants, because these drugs are medically useless and neurotoxic, and the pharmaceutical companies make 1,000% profit from the production of these drugs.

This is possibly the single biggest reason pot is still illegal
there are still huge profits to be had by selling poisoned medicine to the sheeple.

However, the USA Screwthey article is slightly skewed
the number one prescribed drug in the USA is the heroin based Vicodin
(which is why those Afghan poppies are worth dieing for)
    128.2 million prescriptions in 2009
used by about 30% of the US population

then comes the antidepressant group of drugs
and then comes the lifestyle related drugs
(cholesterol, high-blood pressure, stomach disorders, diabetes)

God forbid we ever actually address what it is that actually makes us depressed, no let’s just artificially induce chemicals in our heads that make us feel good, so that living in this hellish manufactured nightmare seems bearable.

america is boring, we go to school, get married, move into a house that looks like every other house on the block,  squat out a couple of kids then spend 20 years driving them around from soccer practice to dance class and sell our kids up the same river our parents sold us up and treat the yearly anniversary date night to olive garden like the social event of the year and this is the dream……..I am fucking surprised the antidepressant use rate isn’t around 95%
