The Beauty Of OccupyWallStreet

Director Steven Greenstreet (Killer At Large) captures a side of the protests that goes unnoticed by most:

Hot Chicks of Occupy Wall Street from Steven Greenstreet on Vimeo.

A lot of fantastic media has been created about the “Occupy” movement. I was watching one video in particular and commented to a friend, “Wow, seeing all those super smart hot chicks at the protest makes me want to be there.” He replied, “Hmmm… Yeah, let’s go with that.”

We instantly went to Tumblr and made http://hotchicksofoccupywallstreet.tumblr.com. Our original ideas were admittedly sophomoric: Pics of hot chicks being all protesty, videos of hot chicks beating drums in slow-mo, etc. But when we arrived at Zuccotti Park in New York City, it evolved into something more.

There was a vibrant energy in the air, a warmth of community and family, and the voices we heard were so hopeful and passionate. Pretty faces were making signs, giving speeches, organizing crowds, handing out food, singing, dancing, debating, hugging and marching.

It made me want to pack my bags and pitch a tent on Wall Street. And it’s in the light that we created this video.

And we hope it makes you want to be there too.

We need a site to show the hot Teapers too! Would be similar to the Wal Mart fashion sites.

So beautiful … another beautiful moment … among the professional politicians who are gathering to support OWS is Councilmember Letitia James who intervened to stop the Zuccotti Park evictions. James has spent her entire life as either an elected politician or a politician staff member.

Last year she sued a worker who made less than $30K a year after she bumped into his legally parked truck and bruised her shin. http://www.brooklynpaper.com/stories/33/12/33_12_sw_tish_suit.html

Another great supporter of the “rebellion” is Nancy Pelosi – the 71 year old worth $35 million who has received campaign donations from AFLAC, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, the Mortgage Bankers Association and Lockheed Martin.

We should do a daily profile on revolutionaries like Pelosi and James. They really are inspiring.

You know you have a totally legitimate popular uprising and not a rather  callous stage-play that jerks people around like marketing props when it’s being backed by bought-and-paid-for politicians. Where would the French Revolution have got if King Louis didn’t join the rebels in storming the Bastille after all. LOL.

    • Rodale

For a site that calls itself “disinfo” it’s sure involved in spreading a lot of it.

    • Andrew

Now tell us about how Republicans and their corporate backers supported the Tea Party from the very start and thus invalidated any grievances they have.

      • Rodale

Not from the start but at least from day 3, absolutely (maybe day 2).

I’m not a Republican. However, it’s clear you’ve bought into the false left-right dichotomy. Your post is the best example yet of exactly why this Unilever Corporation-backed OWS “movement” exists. To play it off on the equally corporate-backed Tea Party. Keep everyone distracted by their bickering with each other. The leadership – Pelosi, Boehner, Obama and Romney – aren’t bickering. They’re united, their pockets lined and flush with all the same money from the same sources.

Something extremely serious is about to happen in Libya within the next month  that may have a direct impact on the economy and future of the western world. It will make page D3 of the news though because all the corporate channels are busy talking about which OWS protester is hottest, who had the funnest sign, blah blah, whatever.

Disinfo is just another (unwitting) dupe in this disinformation campaign.

It would be funny if it weren’t so very, very sad.

        • Andrew

If you knew me, you’d realize how funny it is to say I’ve bought into the left-right dichotomy.

Please click on the red “submit story” button up near the top of the page and let Disinfo know about what’s going to happen in Libya.  I am entirely serious with that request.  It’s not constructive to call Disinfo a dupe when you can easily contribute important information.

          • Rodale

I don’t need to – you jumped in screaming like a lunatic that, because I said something negative about the Unilever Corporation-backed OWS, I must be a supporter of the General Electric-backed Tea Party. That assumption shows you’re a dupe. Sorry – I don’t mean that as an insult, just an observation of fact.

You want to think you are above and beyond the Left-Right dichotomy but you’re as much a puppet as anyone. The Right needed a protest movement to cement Republican control by keeping people from bolting and they got it. Now the Left needs one and they’re getting it.

Did King Louis join the storming of the Bastille? No. A good way to tell if a revolution is fake or not is to see if the King is participating. When Michelle Bachman is waving the Tea Party flag you know it’s fake. When Nancy Pelosi is waving the OWS flag you know it’s fake.

You’re a prop, a puppet, a toy. They’re laughing at you because you’re doing what they want – a nice, vanilla, orderly protest policed by their paid activists, promoted by the corporate media (Google News returns 47,000 results in 24 hours on OWS … funny “media blackout” LOL) and who make sure no one does anything actually – you know – revolutionary. Just keep it to online petitions and park sit-ins until the weather gets cold and Black Friday shopping extravaganza begins!

          • Andrew

You might want to read up on psychological projection, because while I made an incorrect assumption about you, I’ve done no jumping or screaming here.  You, on the other hand, have yet to realize or admit your error.

Have you submitted your story yet, or are you more interested in casting aspersions?

          • Rodale

And what error would that be, honey? That you were pounding away on your keyboard, your face flush red with the vein popping out in your head as whom you thought was a “Tea Bagger” disparaged the religious experience you were having via the Unilever Corporation/Wells Fargo endorsed OWS “movement?”

Give it a break, sweetie. Go back to dancing to that tune that Barack “AT&T” Obama and Nancy “AFLAC” Pelosi are playing for you. For some rape victims it’s easier if they just lay back and try to enjoy it, instead of trying to resist. Have fun with it!

          • Andrew

Yeah, call me whatever names you need to.  I’ll take your judgment more seriously when you spend as much time filling us in about Libya as you do insulting us.

          • Contra

At this point, he’s clearly just trolling rather than trying to communicate anything substantial.  It seems he has valid opinions but has become too disillusioned by the stupidity of the common American people.  Don’t know if I can blame him I suppose.. But hostile argumentation will not lead to resolution so I applaud your stance Andrew.

          • Rodale

What names did I call you? You see to be trying very hard to be offended about something. I know it’s tough to learn that you’re a puppet, not a revolutionary. Man up and take it.

Age of pisces also was the age the modern world was built in. Big ups to the ones that gave their whole lives so we could have some sanitation and video games. Now its time to enjoy those luxuries without forced labor and racism ruining their goodness. Its what the aquarian age is about “fine tuning” not denouncing everything that has been done for us by our ancestors.

The delusions she is talking about are religion, patriotism and the neurosis of greed and doing only things that bring monetary profit. Before those things were needed and tied to progress and the building of infrastructure. Now those things are mostly completed except form clean energy and maybe better housing in areas that are affected by violent weather. Its time to play after humanities hard work

Suggestion for the future: footage of the less attractive women of OWS, who may or may not be able to express their views while not sounding like crazy people. Why are all the pretty ones batshit-insane?
