Huge Lego Man Washes Up On Florida Beach

legoman930Wired writes that for the third time in recent years, a gigantic Lego figure has washed ashore on a coastline in the Northern Hemisphere. Artist is unknown. Below, video of a similar occurrence in Holland. Damn you, Lego man, for making me confront my own emptiness!

A larger-than-life Lego man bearing the cryptic phrase “no real than you are” has washed ashore on the Florida coast. Beachcombers in Siesta Key found the roughly 8-foot-tall Lego man just before dawn Tuesday. The figure had “Ego Leonard” and the number 8 on its back.

In 2007, an almost-identical creation was found in the Netherlands. Another turned up in England the next year.

…all the more reason to be there with a camera; unless your one of those pervs who goes to the beach and tapes other people….?  😛

        • Depending on the time of day siesta key beach is kinda dead..except for the snow birds lathering on the melanoma..we usually found lots of sand dollars there..but never a legoman.  Guess it’s all timing..

People are so quick to jump all over the Dutch. Just because something odd happens and a Dutch man takes responsibility for it doesn’t mean he’s responsible for it.

Or, it’s advertising. Isn’t there a new legoland opening up in Orlando?

Assuming that the message is not purposely clumsey in order to deceive, would it not be possible for linguists to make an educated guess as to possible first languages of the author? Call in the forensics team to determine unique characteristics of the materials in order to localize the origin.
