    Care to elaborate?
This all seems to be about semantics and nomenclature, not anything of real substance.

Yeah I dunno…..this is a bunch of BS.

And I thought I’d add, we got the same results…but without ever deviating from the message of the story

Except; labor was destroyed, farmers are now capitalists, and the capitalists and politicians are one in the same… i guess Capital-ISM was the one that got us? They seemed to leave that little -ISM out of their quite literal demonization

But no, see, they aren’t capitalists, they are “free enterprizists”.

Also, the farmers didn’t all become capitalists, just some, the rest were basically displaced by industrial scale agriculture.

Old cartoon is actually childish anti-communist propaganda.

Honestly who honestly thinks this is a spooky prophetic prediction rather than dumb propaganda? If you see this as an accurate prediction of the the current America, well you were successfully propagandized.

The problem with this cartoon: it was aimed toward kids: the same kids who would later forget this whitewashed lesson of politics and economics and  would sell it all for that snake oil called “ISM” anyway.

  10. It is agaisnt “isms” but at the same time makes propaganda for capitalism.

Are you now or have you been a member of the anti-ism-ist party?

  20. Didnt you know? only anti-ism-ism is the only -ism you can ism

    Exactly!

  23. Identify as part of a group = sell your soul (and with it, your freedoms).

Single people can make their mark on the world…but only if they’re free to.

And, of course, Snake Oil Salesman = Government, in any form (Remember, the right to bear arms implies the use of arms-bearers in the defense of their state, community and nation. An idea taken from England.).

    – – – – – – – – – –

Yawn…probably put out during the mid-fifties, I’m guessing, when the cartoon propaganda mill was at its biggest. Didn’t see this, but saw some similar stuff in my youth, in reruns.

Yeah, except identifying with a group is encoded in human DNA. Their is no anthropological basis for the rugged individualist propaganda put out by capitalists and all of their insidious permutations.

  26. Anti-communist propagarbage.

  28. This is a great cartoon.  It so obviously advocates against being sucked into the lies of utopianism, socialism, communism and other forms of freedom killing statism.

It advocates for the most freedom for man.  That comes from capitalism.  It’s not perfect but it’s far better than any other system for providing the most opportunities for the most members of a society.

Capitalism is simply everyone looking out for themselves, their families, and their friends. People and organizations, rich and poor and in-between, large and small and middle sized.  Of course, a fair and just rule of law is needed to enforce property rights and protect the people from bad actors taking greed and self-interest too far by violating other people’s rights.
