    I’m one of those “Tea Party Douchebags” that served his time, too, Navy ST5/SWCC.  Those who consider the “Tea Party” movement to be what they see on Television are as uneducated as third world alley drunks.  The Tea Party on television is as worth while as the Occupy movements that destroy public property.  There is a truth behind every banner, unless you seek that truth, you’re just another lemming that “machine” has comfortably programmed.

    The only person properly representing the Tea Party, as I believe it to be, is Ron Paul.  I dare you, Hadrian, to do what I’ve done in defense of this nation and our individual constitutional rights.  Educate, don’t hate.  If you’re getting your “knowledge” from a television, you’re not educated, you’re programmed.

    If it was actually about those things, it would have “spontaneously” formed back when GWB was doing those things, instead of waiting until he was gone and blaming it all on the black guy who inherited the mess but can’t clean it up while an obstructionist GOP congress stands in his way.

    I would believe they were a real movement if they had any ideas besides handing the whole country lock, stock, and barrel over to the corporate interests who got the bailouts or giving stimulus to those same corporations in the form of more tax breaks and relaxed regulation while ignoring the fact that a lack of regulation is what got us in to this mess to start with.

    Ron Paul’s magical thinking about how industry will just regulate itself just like it hasn’t in the last decade if we just remove even more oversight is completely ludicrous.  It’s like fixing our crime problem by getting rid of the police.

    I love how you say the Tea Party is misrepresented, and what people see on T.V does not represent the Tea Party. You then turn around and make large sweeping assumptions about the Occupy Wallstreet movement based on what you have seen on TV.

    Here in Richmond V.A. the Occupy movement marched down the center of the city and picked up trash allong the street as they went…….Did Fox News show you that?……….You see what they want you to see and you know only what they want you to know. The best part about it is that the Tea Pary and the Occupy protesters are mad about 75% of the same stuff……..So keep flaming that hatred at each other while the Big Guys rob you blind and take away more and more freedom.

    I don’t watch T.V.  I simply educate myself via the internet what they’re saying ON T.V. Big difference.  You do have one thing right and that is the lemming philosophy, you know what they want you to know and hear what they want you to hear.  As PART of the original OCCUPY movement I KNOW what we originally stood for, and not what a lot of people have twisted it in to.  Fox news?  No.  Quite simply put, I try to gather everything they don’t show YOU.  Yet again, you’re a perfect example of Fox propaganda…  75%??!!  You’re definitely NOT in the know zone.  Nobody is flaming hatred here, but you’re certainly trying to twist it into such a thing… typical.

    Ha! No.

    The companies became ‘too big to fail’—meaning that we have no companies to fall back on if the one (or two) massive companies that operate one important section of our economy goes under; they are the sole producer in a section of industry, etc.—because restrictions on how many companies could merge, be purchase by, or be sold to other companies were removed. 

    Ron Paul thinks it will be perfectly alright to allow companies to regulate themselves, but what he, and all of his supporters, fail to see is that without somebody (a regulator not bought by the people they are supposed to be regulating) restricting them from forming monopolies, they will, as it is their natural inclination. 

    Our entire economic landscape is built upon false competition. Two dozen companies (as an example) all want to be the only game in town, so they ‘compete’ with other businesses to knock all their competition out. If they can’t smash their competition, but they have more money than their competition, they purchase their competition, or, if both are relatively equal in worth, the owners hold a meeting to merge the companies. All of this to make a higher profit than they did the previous quarter. 

    And thus, if all the ‘competing’ companies have been consolidated into a enormous conglomerate—which they will if allowed to (again, that means without regulation)—we will arrive once more to ‘too big to fail’.

    Yes, please, what was the actual content of the adverstisement?  Also: Tea Party, if it were legitimate would INDEED have been up in arms for the entirely of the Bush admin, but they were nowhere to be found.  Further, the Occupy movement is a nitwit-filled waste of time and energy, and will accomplish NOTHING.  NOTHING.  Do you know why?  It’s because most of the folks in the 99% don’t relate at all to the leftist extremism the movement is expressing.  They don’te relate to “culture jamming,” to anarchists, to anti-capitalists and such.

    Wow, Many people join the service to defend the people they love, not to fight a war that is meaningless but merely protect who they care about, and although once in it is horribly twisted into a life of corporate thug-ism does not change the fact that good, honest, people with integrity, courage and love for their fellow people are there working their ass of long days of long weeks to make sure you have the very privileged and right to make these absolutely distasteful comments. 

    Don’t blame your fellow working class men and women for their service, blame the greedy, lazy, selfish bureaucratic who hide behind their desk sending them to these wars, or stealing peoples pensions, and social security. They are the ones who do not pull their weight relative to their earnings.We must remember we are on the same side, we all may not take the same path but we all come to the same conclusions. and these comments although are protected and tolerable are very distasteful and only drive the wedge between us further, while  giving more success to the those who exploit our efforts for profit and power.

    Spin it however you like. But regardless of what they tell themselves about why they joined, soldiers serve the interests of those selfish bureaucrats and their financiers.

    You are correct, it’s hard for people to get behind the mainstream media’s depiction of the extremism of the OWS movement.  Much of the 99% don’t understand what the OWS movement is about because the mainstream media pretended for months not to understand what it’s about and still keeps pushing the meme “they don’t know what they’re about they just hate america and capitalism and freedom and god and they poop everywhere.”

    However it has accomplished a lot already.  We have changed the narrative in this country from how can we hand the whole country over to the corporate interests who lied cheated and stole us into this mess to one of personal and corporate accountability.

    For every facebook conversation I have with some media-blinded teabagger who is incapable of learning from history, there are several lurkers who are hearing a side of the conversation that they would never have heard from the corporate-owned MSM.  This by itself has made the movement worth while.
