Newt Beats Mitt

This man is a sex machine.

Could the Republicans choose worse names for their leading presidential candidates? Anyway, looks like the doughboy is still in the race according to this report from The Official Republican Party News Channel Fox News:

Newt Gingrich has won the South Carolina Republican primary, Fox News projects, further scrambling an already volatile presidential race which has produced three different winners in three states as the candidates head next to Florida.

Fox News projects that Mitt Romney will place second in the Palmetto State, where he was leading in the polls just one week ago. With 5 percent of precincts reporting, Gingrich has 38 percent and Romney has 32 percent. Rick Santorum will finish in third place, Fox News projects, while Ron Paul will finish last …

High likelihood of that leading to WWIII. Isn’t it nice to know our “leaders” have everyone’s best interests at heart?

i love our primary system…’s such unabashed bullshit, we pretend that these small rural states actually matter, social conservatives love it but it is false, if you add South Carolina and Iowa together they have half the population of Florida or New York state and a little more than one fifth the the population of California but we pretend that “main street America” has some kind of power in deciding who a party’s nominee will be

If I didn’t have a name to put to the face, I’d have assumed this was some serial killer/rapist.

Not that the actual truth is any better.

  12. Can you blame them? (Well…yeah…I guess we can…and should.) SC voters picked what Krugman rightly described as “a dumb guys idea of a smart guy”. Mitt is a slick, greasy, glad handling millionaire cultist from a liberal eastern state. Santorum may have the religious chops but he’s almost hopelessly inept in all other ways and is as much of a Northerner as a person can be without being Canadian. Ron Paul scares generic rank and file republicans right down the last fiber of their being and the word is out among GOP stalwarts to close ranks against him. Cain is out of the race, Perry is out, Palin was never really in but liked to cock-tease the desperate and dumb. All thats left for SC is a fat sleazy weirdo whose only selling points are that he can form whole sentences and used to be a Republican ‘leader’ at a time when they actually managed to do something more useful than sit on their hands and say “no” 30 times a day. (Should be mentioned however that what they ‘did’ while doing something decades ago was complete economy and nation ruining garbage. But at least they looked very busy and professional while screwing up the future for all…which is actually better than anything they’ve done lately.)
