Oklahoma Bill Proposed To Outlaw Use Of Human Fetuses In Food

Ralph-Shortey-Bush-cropped-proto-custom_28Republican Ralph Shortey believes that in the near future, human fetuses will be added to our food to “enhance flavor” and wants the government and pro-life movement to take action. Is he onto something? Talking Points Memo writes:

An Oklahoma Republican is pushing a bill to outlaw the use of human fetuses in food, because, as he says, “there is a potential that there are companies that are using aborted human babies in their research and development of basically enhancing flavor for artificial flavors.”

State Sen. Ralph Shortey introduced a bill on Tuesday “prohibiting the sale or manufacture of food or products which contain aborted human fetuses.”

Though he has allowed that he is not aware of this occurring in Oklahoma, or anywhere for that matter, Shortey cited research he did on the internet that claimed that some companies use embryonic stem cells to help develop artificial flavoring. “It would be a public relations nightmare for a company to use” aborted human fetuses for R&D, Shortey told KRMG Radio, so when asked they usually say something like “we strive to do things ethically.”

“I’m not entirely sure if there are any” companies doing this, he continued. “But the fact is that there is a potential that there are companies that are using aborted human babies in their research and development of basically enhancing flavor for artificial flavors. And if that is happening — because it is a possibility — and if it’s happening then I just don’t think it should even be an option for a company.”

Shortey added that if you took this idea to its logical conclusion, you could “force every human being” to be an organ donor, “and that’s kind of what we’re doing with these children. Before they’re born, we’re going to kill them and then we can do anything we want to with your body.”

If it can be done they will do it, no matter how wrong. Good luck with your bill.

  2. All the more reason to learn to cook and eat FOOD, not artificially “enhanced” simulated food-like processed substances.

You know, food? Fruits and vegetables and grains and nuts and (organic) meat? Not some shit in an aluminum tray you stick into a motherfucking microwave and “enjoy” three minutes later, or anything you can buy from a drive-thru window.

  3. At least I can still eat executed criminals.

    • We like to let our fetuses AGE PROPERLY before we abort / execute them, thereby ensuring the best possible flavor.

      • Fetus meat is way too fatty.  Convicts tend to spend their last years working out in the Yard, thus they are the Kobe beef of long pig.

  4. “Uhhh yes waiter..Can I substitute the Alfredo with the fetus cream sauce please?” This place only uses the freshest abortions possible, thank goodness we don’t live in Oklahoma.

This is what happens when members of congress read articles on Disinfo.com.

Isn’t it disturbing how often Republicans think about aborted human fetuses?

From the state known for dry red dirt and a law prohibiting the sale of COLD beer from a liquor store. ( some places will give you free bag of ice when you buy a case ). Getting a crazy notion and going after Tater’s big gulp because Jezus hates abortion is not surprising to me. — Next up, “No Sir you can’t buy cold Pepsi around here, but if you buy a case we will give you a bag of ice as long as you take that shit down to the river. If you smell something funny it’s probably meth cookin …just get up wind and you’ll be fine.”

  8. Never mind adding them to processed foods.

I prefer my aborted fetus lightly sauteed with salt, pepper, and a tiny sprinkle of curry powder and cumin.

    MMMMM now that’s good fetus!

  9. This is bullshit.
My cookbook for human fetuses is about to get published.

This guy is such a killjoy!

Fetus is the fruit of the womb. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it … make fetus-kabobs, fetus creole, fetus gumbo … pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There’s pineapple fetus, lemon fetus, coconut fetus, pepper fetus, fetus soup, fetus stew, fetus salad, fetus & potatoes, fetus burger, fetus sandwich …

fetus is a natural food & the world would be a better place if more assholes like Ralph Shortey had been aborted & enjoyed with a beverage & a side dish

  13. As a fellow resident of Oklahoma and someone who is like minded. I think we should use reconstituted Republicans to enhance the flavor of our food in the future. And this is what gets more attention than our highways… Well, this nonsense and the struggle to keep medicinal marijuana as foreign policy.

Them boys from Oklahoma roll their joints all wrong. But in all fairness floating around Tahlequah with a case of Shiner and a bag of ice = good times.

      • Man I used to get some good smoke from around Sequoyah county and just north of there. Smokers in Stillwater may roll their joints right but their music is the bottom of the food chain. Respect to the eye for knowing whats up.

We should just be glad that veal isn’t illegal (yet).

    • Yea cuz what society needs is more tortured baby cow meat.  THATS REAL FREEEDOM!  God bless America

      • Calypso_1 | Jan 31, 2012 at 1:30 pm |

Veal is a natural byproduct of the dairy industry.  How can we steal their milk unless we slaughter the bull-children?

  15. Why does this guy hate capitalism?  He clearly doesn’t have a problem with eating or rather he does, doesn’t he know the free market will balance things out?  It’s the Anakin Skywalker from Star Wars only in the real world.  And we know how that turned out. Terribly.  On so many levels.

  16. Put this man on his Baptist bus and drive it off of a cliff,  his body can be harvested later…for the hard up

Uh, that “Final Taboo” thing on Rotten Dot Com is sooo… 99 or whatever…

Frankly, though, with GM food we are probably all “Cannibals” at this stage.  I think a lot of human (fetus or non) derived hormones are already in beef and milk.  It’d be nice if he went after that, but that’d get in the way of campaign contributions from companies that do such things.
