RAP NEWS episode 10: The year we’ve all been waiting for – 2012AD (or 13.0.0.0.0, if you ask a Mayan) – is finally here. What will happen? Will we see the poles shift or a paradigm shift? Will a rogue Sumerian planet smash into our solar system, plunging us into serfdom under the iron fist of a race of gold-hungry aliens? Or are the aliens already here? Or are all these merely humanity’s collective projections of itself as it careens towards an ever-accelerating super-connected cyber-reality – whatever that means… One thing’s sure, if 2011 was a prelude of things to come, 2012 is going to be one hell of a year.     God I hope it ends next year, because if not we are in for a long drawn out nightmare of a future. We are staring down the barrels of 6 degrees C warming, peak oil and its various debilitating effects, certainly more ecological disasters like oil spills and crap, war is certainly out there, rampant imperialism on behalf of the more powerful nation/corporate states, martial law is probably going to crop up in many places if not nationwide, and maybe a special guest appearance by a scary new virus or two.

    But hey! Mass Effect 3!

    Unfair parody of Terence McKenna (Terence Moonsend). But funny as hell nonetheless. the last few verses are very poignant. If there is one guy i wish was still around to hear his opinion of 2012, its Terence McKenna. Maybe I still can :)

    Terence could take a joke….and as to his opinion of 2012 – would you have believed 30 years ago that his hyper-dimensional embedding of this meme would have flowered in the mass consciousness to the nth degree.  I’m sure he and RAW are hanging on the the flip side.

    6˚ warming huh?  Source?  Everything else doesn’t seem beyond the pale horse at all sadly…  

    Also who funds Juice Media?  They are funny and creative no doubt, but the irony in their unabashed support for DN is telling.  Interesting that they satirize folks like Alex Jones while Lionizing Julian Assange.   Isn’t it strange Julian lord of murky secrets with nay a peep about Building 7 or 9/11 other than to say it’s no “conspiracy”…  Just like Noam and Amy G.   Left Liberal Gate Keepers Oh My!

    Source, I dunno, pretty much any studies about the long term warming trends that take into account positive feedback loops caused by releasing methane sources coming out of thawing permafrost in the arctic and along the ocean floor. 2 to 4 degrees warming by mid century is almost guaranteed depending on levels of continuing economic/industrial activity which may fluctuate depending on further economic shocks and downturns.

    Define “Source”?  There are hundreds of them, in their own words, that have proven a consistent rise in temp and ocean alkalinity.  The two combined have the same result rather you’re doing a second grade science project or government sponsored project.  Use Google.

    …Judging by their poor hair pieces, no one funds Juice Media, but they’ve had 2 “real people” on their segments by now, and I’m finding it a little more difficult to believe it’s just two dudes, no matter how successful one may or may not be as a rapper in his own right.
