    But it works so perfectly!

You vote for things you say your against, and then later on you run on ending the same legislation.

  • Redacted

This is the best you can do? Maybe next Ron Paul can talk about how nice kittens are.

    • http://twitter.com/alizardx A.Lizard

Only if he presents his favorite kitty recipes at the same time.

      • Adamsshadow

I’ve heard they go well with anything sweet-and-sour.

It’s awful that our public/political discourse has drifted so far away from what’s Constitutionally justifiable that the one guy who does speak in such a manner is frequently ridiculed as being a crank.

I don’t completely agree with Paul on many issues, perhaps as few as none. But he was the only guy on the stage whose political epistemology has any sort of internal consistency and rational rigor.

    • DeepCough

I like to think that he’s just plain not a fucking retard.

  • chinagreenelvis

It’s good to see the world finally taking Ron Paul seriously. He’s the only person who’s so blatantly honest about how things in government actually work (or rather don’t work).

  • DeepCough

I’m no Ron Paul supporter, but even I can’t help but balk at the fact that a frothy mixture has higher poll numbers than him.

  • Anarchy Pony

Frothy is a madman, that much is certainly clear.

he really got 24 min of talk time, its about time !!!! but ive been hearing that this was the last GOP debate… you would think they planed it like that ??? PRESIDENT PAUL like a BOSS TOTALY OWNS NOOBS!!! consistency = trust… wether your agree with the mans issues… hes consistent, that to me says ALLOT! its one of the reasons i voted for him 4 years ago, its the same reason i vote for him now >PEACE<

  • Mr Willow

Of course he’s fake, this is a GOP debate.

  • rtb61

No wonder the Republican Party debates come of as really poor showings.
Planned parenting is evil so people incapable of properly supporting and raising an unlimited number of children is OK?
Ensuring states have some measure of uniform education, so that qualifications have national and international meaning is evil, so every county going it’s own way in education with disparity in content of qualifications and no uniform measure is OK?
What is an illegal, how do you prove it, why with internal passports, no passport off to jail you go until you prove you are a citizen, go to hospital no treatment until you prove you are a citizen, go to court no rights until you prove you are a citizen, catch 22 here, no right in court to attempt to prove you are a citizen until you prove you are a citizen?
All of them absolutely all of them have a record of saying one thing and voting another, not a little but a lot, they call each other out on it and think they are winning.
Congratulations go to Ron Paul on converting a blood thirsty let’s go to war with Iran audience to smart thinking and peace (one sound policy out of many failures).

  • vbrans

I don’t agree with Ron Paul on many things but, he is against war and the big banking monopolies.I voted for Obama because I thought he was against these things but he has yet to prove himself.Paul is without a doubt the best of the republicans running. His views on things are a lot less extreme. He is not against birth control or the morning after pilI.He is not a religious zealot.I don’t think people on the left should dismiss his ideas. You don’t have to agree with him to listen to him.I would love to see a debate between Ron Paul and Obama. If nothing else it would at least be a refreshing intelligent debate for a change.

    • Liquidself

yes,  everything would be great;  except that he s a racist.

      • Apathesis

Oh, and the others aren’t?  Please, I doubt a guy who supports NORML and ending the drug war is racist.

A few thousands bucks from the loser at Stormfront compared to the millions the other assholes get from fucking criminals is TITS.

        • Jin The Ninja

          A) He should have no problem returning the money if that is the case
          B) the repeal of the 1964 Civil Rights act is probably one of the most racially regressive notions in domestic policy.  Even if RP ended the war on drugs (admittedly indirectly very racially ecumenical)- it wouldn’t equalise race relations in this context (the end result of the two actions would not be ‘neutral.’)

  • Apathesis

All you people who dislike Ron Paul, what do you not like SPECIFICALLY?  I know there is plenty to dislike, but I’m tired of this ambiguity.  I know you certainly aren’t going to vote for the other “choices”…

    • Jin The Ninja

‘Ambiguous’ is not a word i would personally choose to describe the criticism of RP. go back and read any number of related posts. There are five points in particular that are very contentious to some of us. I would say only a handful of the board actively HATE him, but many have legitmate criticisms of him.

      • Apathesis

I meant in regard to this particular page.  What five points?  I’m honestly just curious.

        • Apathesis

Who are people voting for then?

          • Jin The Ninja

Well i can’t speak for everybody, but from what i’ve read either 3rd party candidates (the truth being if RP was running as indie or libertarian, more people would support him) or they have abandoned the corrupt 2-party representative system and are supporting alternative modes of governance.

        • Jin The Ninja

i actually thought of 6…and in no particular order:

          1) environment
          2) women’s healthcare
          3) civil rights
          4) de-regulation of financial industries
          5) public education
          6) social safety nets like SS, medicare (and obviously this is problematic also because of the general healthcare situation in the US, which of course, doesn`t work very well as a privatised system to begin with)
