I had high hopes for this interview, but I couldn’t watch more than 10 minutes :/

Billy was too conservative and patriotic for my taste… People age, preconceptions get stronger, can’t help that ^^

    • tooCents | Apr 1, 2012 at 2:02 am |

You mean people become more conservative with age? Bertrand Russel comes to mind as a counter example. Lots of counter examples.

    • Vincent Vega | Apr 1, 2012 at 4:05 am |

Too conservative and patriotic?  You must be a troll or spam bot.

I want my govt to do what’s best for the country, not what is best for them.  As it is, they do what is best for them, what fills their greedy pockets.    It is on your back they ride.  Unless you  like eating the crumbs from the rich mans table.

I have more pride than that.  Maybe you don’t.

thanks vincent but you are the one that sounds like a bot.  go suck your billy willie.

  2. The powers attack dissent not because of the group drive but because of individual drives. Simply read this and you will have a greater understanding of what is going on and why.
Narcissists in government, need total control, don’t believe anyone else is capable are personally threatened by any challenge to their ideas, are completely unaware of the harm they are causing and routinely attack anyone that challenges them.
Elements of our government behave in an insane manner, it is because they are in fact insane. What really needs to happen is psychological testing to ensure those people suffering from the emotional growth defect of narcissism arising from a genetic defect are kept out of public office.
Of course one thing a modern pseudo celebrity needs to remember, times have changed, your mass media protected comment is no longer protected by the distance of mass media, make that opinion on the internet (to millions) and you will be challenged (by thousands), some of them paid to do so and actively silence you, get over it (you, just like everyone else will have to defend your opinion).

  3. what the fuck is billy corgan talking about? what happened to the music industry is exactly what should happen to the rest of the capitalist structure! it took the power out of the hands of a few and put it into the many! very model of a redistribution of power.

    • Vincent Vega | Apr 1, 2012 at 3:58 am |

I’m not sure what you didn’t understand Dan.  Your comment is 180 out of wack.

Where is the power of the many? Please tell me.

      • more and more independent artist make a livable, “reasonable” income off their music rather than a small pocket of musicians making a massive wealth off their music.

i make my living playing music and selling albums and i don’t think that would of been possible in a pre file sharing music industry. and this is true for many many people.

        • vincent, i can see what you are talking about and it depends on the perspective you look at it. the huge huge tours and mega releases albums becoming a thing of the past and those did provide jobs to many people (crew, drives, etc). and yes, that sucks for those people and that is a big population of people

but in my mind, it was a shift and not a death of an industry. but it’ll be hard to tell for a while. the next few decades will be interesting and telling.

      i’m with Dan!
music + corporate = pile of fecal marketing.

First we got Rosie O’Donnell, then Jesse Ventura, and now notorious megalomaniacal douche Billy Corgan throws in with us – Truthers certainly keep illustrious company.

    • Vincent Vega | Apr 1, 2012 at 4:08 am |

What do you stand for?  New Ipod? New G5 connection, new destruction 7 video game?

What is a truther?      Is that somebody that seeks the truth?  Want’s the truth? Speaks the truth?

      Weak fuzzbum

I forgot to mention Charlie Sheen – banging seven gram rocks and exposing the New World Order. Definitely the kind of person you need on your side if you want your worldview to be taken seriously – second only to a buffoonish former pro wrestler who sounds like the character Bigfoot from the Howard Stern Show.

Sounds like all the people one would look for if trying to discredit a valid movement.

My only question, because I agree with what is being said, is, what is up with one hand being white and the other being red?  Is it just the lighting?    I’m concerned for his health.  I’m not a fan of Smashing Punkins, not a hater either.   I appreciated his perspective of things I will never see.  I know they are there but it’s not in my face.   Thanks Billy for telling it like you see it.  And I think that’s the point.

  6. Vincent Vega | Apr 1, 2012 at 4:14 am |

The narcissist  perspective.  I don’t believe that is what we are seeing, I believe what we are seeing is that people to want to be involved with others. I’m talking about on a worker bee to worker bee interaction.   You either get sued, into a confrontation or arrested.   So people just don’t give a fuck about anything out of self preservation.
Don’t tell the rude cunt that he’s being rude, just shut up and deal with it.   How do you deal with it? Put on your ear buds, turn on your interweb connection, tune out.  Fuck you.  Go be a douche somewhere else I don’t care.

And to add to that.  People try to be nice and get shit on for it.  My good friend was taught to hold the door for ladies.  One time he does this and the lady stopped in her tracks and was offended he did that for her. Cussed him out about it.

Would you still open doors for ladies after getting your ass reamed for it?  No. You wouldn’t.

Mind your own business, stay out of the drama.

    • Redacted | Apr 1, 2012 at 5:07 am |

It is our place as Men to put up with the nonsense of Women.

    • For future reference, the correct answer to that reaming is, “I didn’t hold the door open because you’re a woman, I held the door open because I’m a Gentleman”.

But really, I’ve never even been looked at askance, let alone verbally accosted, for holding the door for someone and I do it all the time.

    • InfiltratedSlacker | Apr 1, 2012 at 1:21 pm |

       > Would you still open doors for ladies after getting your ass reamed for it?  No. You wouldn’t.

Man up then, and do what’s right.  Just cuz one PMSing ho bitched you out doesn’t mean you should give up.

  8. haha the “Maoris” haha so glad I caught that snippet.

    • Jaz_____ | Apr 1, 2012 at 5:37 am |

at what point does he mention the maori?

      • When he talks about native americans and aboriginal australians as being our salvation.

        • I just found it funny how he pronounced the name. Couldn’t really say much more on the episode as Alex Jones’ voice does my head in after 10 seconds of his ramblings. The man needs to relax and enjoy the sunshine from time to time.

  9. I liked the Billy Corgan interview and I don’t really watch Alex Jones or listened to Smashing Pumpkins.  He sounded intelligent and sincere so the narcissist angle is off beat.  In my opinion, only a very small fraction of Americans are ALLOWED any media coverage at all and this guy is allowed coverage. I think he had some valid points and at least he has the balls to speak out on his opinion.

  10. Anomaly_of_Anomie | Apr 1, 2012 at 3:34 pm |

A lot of people just love to throw stones at an object of focus. Duh… did you even watch more than a few minutes before commenting? That is the problem with a lot of people today- short attention span and fragile self-centered egos. LISTEN to what this guy is actually talking about. While you don’t have to agree with the things Mr. Corgan has to say, most of what is being said are valid points.
