Freeman-on-the-Land: Canada’s ‘Sovereign Citizen’ Movement?

I’m aware of the seemingly growing movement of Freeman in Canada, I’ve done a little research of the idea in Canada and the UK, but Americans might be more familiar with the idea of a Sovereign Citizen. The ideas are interesting and appealing to many who see the take over of society by corporations and the erosion of citizens right, plus the ever increasing regulations being forced upon the general public. I’m neither for or against Freeman, I’m not sure if what Freeman say is true, you’re better researching it for yourself. Full report by the CBC is available here:

There’s also the World Freeman Society. If anyone has any verifiable evidence about the claims of the Freeman I’d be only too glad to view it.

    Hmm, this movement is like a mix of Scientology, KKK, and the Boy Scouts. Great organization where they can attract angry people like themselves. They do not seem to be adding anything to society except hatred.

      This is funny, the only type I have seen attracted to this concept in Canada, are peace loving people who believe the government is corrupt, and are looking after corporate interest rather then the people of the land, which they were elected in for in the first place… you need to do your research!

    Obviously no one leaving a message here has done their research! I have researched the all the nessary areas that are motivating this movement… It is all based on common or natural law…. In order to understand any of it you first must do the research and then decide if you want to be part of the problems in the world today, or the solution!! Obviously the current government isn’t looking out for the people who they were voted in to serve! Corporations, profit, and control are their goal… So you can follow their way and have the world die before your eyes, or look for other ways of doing things…

       it’s only OHIP if they live in ON, and what part of the video did it discuss their welfare or healthcare benefits?  Regardless all cdn residents are ENTITLED to healthcare and a measure of social safety. that is what is called “progressive.’

    The delusions of the adherents to this movement make them easy to defeat in court.  Since they don’t know how the legal system operates, they naturally fall into traps made by themselves by ignoring the rules governing our society.  A lot of the argument used by this movement is true to a point and therefore so easy to sell to people who hope for miraculous ways to avoid legal problems or responsibility.  We may see quite a bit of damage caused to members of this cult in pursuing their inherent right to fail with flourish.

    Your views on the movement are your own, and rightfully so. I believe the movement is a step in the right direction. I believe if you ridicule it or oppose it by way of ignorance, you are a fool, and as such, have demonstrated yourself to be. An educated individual, despite position, is respectful of all sides of an issue. I have yet to shun my corporate fiction, but the hour fast approaches. I do this because the current way is not working, and is spiraling further in a destructive motion. I find no fault with peace, and peaceful co-existence is the ultimate goal. The violence I witness is perpetuated by our government against us, the people. I have yet to see proof positive that any Freeman has acted in the same fashion. I have always been FREE….but soon I too will be a Freeman.
