The ‘Tacocopter’ Would Deliver Tacos Via An Unmanned Drone

TacocopterReports Stephanie Grimes on KSL TV:

The ability to have tacos delivered at their feet is an idea many people wouldn’t hesitate to get behind — especially when the tacos are being delivered by a robot.

The Tacocopter — an unmanned drone helicopter that gives customers tacos on demand — would without a doubt be wildly popular were it to exist throughout the nation. Taco-hungry Americans could order and pay for tacos on their smartphones, which would supply GPS coordinates to the drone. Once ordered, the tacos would be delivered as long as the customer remained in the ordering location.

It exists in the Bay Area — in concept, at least. For now, the Tacocopter, which has existed since July 2011, has been grounded by the Federal Aviation Administration, as would be any unmanned commercial drone. According to FAA regulations, “unmanned aerial vehicles” cannot currently be used for commercial purposes.

Americans, we’ve come to a crossroads here where we simply cannot have both things at the same time.

We must make a choice between the War on Terror–or Tacocopter; and I think you will all know in your heart of hearts and the pits of your stomachs what the right choice is.

  2. Of course they’d try to get to us through our love of tacos.  Fight the power of convenient taco delivery and stand against the use of drones on US soil (seriously).

Steel wire and some fishing weights would take that sucker out. Probably
even a pair sneakers from some unfortunate soul would do the trick. Problem is
it would be hard to tell where it would land after that. Ya think it might just
happen to have a camera too?

  4. how would people be terrorized about the idea of unmanned drones if it was used to deliver tacos?

  5. “You see how low that son of bitch is flying?”

‘Yea looks like the Smith’s got supreme’s..”

  6. “We’ve got a tacocopter down! Tacocopter down!”

  7. yeah, i’d love to have those propeller blades landing in my yard.

And I thought that my job of delivering pizzas for Domino’s will never be threatened by technological advancements. At least in my life.

    I was wrong 🙁

  9. How about a great song song playing as they fly by like “Taco Flavoured Kisses”
