    • Just don’t choke as you shovel down coffee at 6:00AM!  Sorry you had to be the bukkake queen in the rightwing circle jerk that is Faux News.

    • That’s absolutely laughable.

Maybe Fox hired someone to say he represented OWS & to come off badly.  Maybe they just found an OWS leader who seemed likely to self-destruct on camera.  Either way, this kid not only lost, he got destroyed.  He came off as both an asshole and an idiot.  Much of it was self-inflicted.

It’s one thing to root for your guy & cut him some slack.    It’s another thing entirely to watch your guy get completely dominated, start to finish & claim he won.

  3. I hate to say it, but the kid was a bigger idiot than Sean.

  4. Anarchy Pony | May 5, 2012 at 5:41 pm |

Who can’t trounce Hannity? The man is an ape in a suit. And that’s kind of insulting to apes.

  5. The kid was right and could win the argument, but Sean was a coward and changed the subject every time, and yelled propaganda instead of reasoning. This talk was pointless.

  6. DeepCough | May 5, 2012 at 6:35 pm |

Hey, Sean, why don’t you get a real job instead of bitching in front of a camera to make money?

    • The only thing to get is money | May 5, 2012 at 7:06 pm |

This kid did not make a good case for Occupy Wall Street. If this guy is a leader organizer or whatever, then Occupy Wall Street is doomed. In fact, it already is a failing movement. Just read this.

      • DeepCough | May 5, 2012 at 9:52 pm |

That is just one guy, and don’t think for a second that Fox News would put on any
opposing (liberal) viewpoint that could one-up their talking heads. But I will concede that the OWS protests in and of themselves will not solve the entire problem, just like the Tea Party protests didn’t solve any real problems whatsoever.

        • If the Tea Party and Occupy would realize that they have a lot more in common than they know, we could make some progress.

      • Flippypog | May 16, 2012 at 2:19 pm |

If all one does is talk over someone continuously and then call it an airing of opposing viewpoints (i.e. every Fox News interview w/anyone opposing the std. Repub talking points), then one cannot claim to possess a legitimate job. The OWS guy had two respectable jobs; Hannity’s had none. OWS wins!

    • seriously*

  7. Fusionism | May 5, 2012 at 6:48 pm |

What an asshole this interviewer is. Clearly if he thought his arguments had any basis in reality he would have let the occupy guy answer one of his barrage of inane questions rather than shout him down with the ridiculous yet expected “get a job”. I think the guest handled it very well, I would have been tempted to defecate on his desk and walk the fuck out of there. There Is nought to be gained by going on Fox. The sheeple who watch it will need an almighty shove to awake from their slumber, which will eventually happen.
Thank you to all the occupiers everywhere. Change is afoot.

    • Shootisttx | May 17, 2012 at 12:53 pm |

Hannity is no different from the interviewers at MSNBC or any of the other “talking head” shows. They ALL talk over the people being interviewed.

On the topic of “get a job”, if these kids would get a degree in something needed, like engineering or mathmatics (yeah, I know, these are hard topics), instead of English Lit or Philosophy, they might be able to get a job.

  8. I can’t stand Hannity and I can’t stand even less to acknowledge that he utterly demolished the OWS guy.

    • Schultz came off as both an idiot and an asshole.  Hannity didn’t destroy him nearly so much as he destroyed himself.

I’m not sure if this guy was a plant, or if Fox just picked someone they knew would self-destruct on the air.

  9. Antediluvian | May 6, 2012 at 12:15 am |

“People who get up early in the morning cause war, death and famine.”

Anyways, that kid isn’t a good spokesperson for a movement that had some potential.  Yeah I’m talking in the past tense, OWS is basically dead if not dying.  Hannity is a something else though.  A lot of ad hominem in this interview, that’s about it.  Goes to show how rediculous this part of the right who generally never rises above name calling.

  10. Redacted | May 6, 2012 at 1:53 am |

Thinking is hard. I better just tune into Fox and let them tell me what the truth is.

I’m not certain that engaging Fox News at all is even worthwhile. Obviously the people who watch it are entrenched in their worldview, and any that aren’t could be reached more effectively through other channels.
That said, Fox News has a history of only inviting people from the left that they feel their pundits can dominate (including Hannity’s old vaudeville partner, Alan Colmes, before Fox dropped even the pretext of ‘balance’). You have to be prepared to speak in short bursts of loud talking points just like Hannity, Beck, or O’Reilly do. Be prepared with answers to their most staggeringly inane, ad hominem, off-topic, misleading or just plain stupid questions. Don’t be on the defensive, but don’t waste time being offensive either. Get the information out there in ways that make his attacks seem childish or desperate.I assume Fox went out to find a community organizer that they felt they could best in an argument, maybe due to his politics, his communication skills, lack of preparedness, or unemployment status. There needs to be a resource in place so that brilliant debaters can ‘switcheroo’ or pinch hit and throw Fox off-guard. Even training seminars would do them a world of good. And to a larger point, we all have to be able to talk to conservatives (or center-rights) in this country on their own terms. If we want any hope of pulling the country back from the brink of radical neo-conservatism, we have to be able to engage a wide spectrum of average Americans based on the issues that we all can feel empathy for: the laughably low minimum wage, hyper-inflated credit, student loan, and mortgage debt, legalized bribery of our elected officials, and the refusal of government to prosecute financial frauds. These are nonpartisan issues, the Democrats and Republicans just work hard to blame the other side and fool the American populace.

    • Redacted | May 6, 2012 at 4:47 am |

    • You are right indeed have to engage people over issues we all can have empathy for.  It is so tempting to try and win over the right wingers since they can be so passionate about their convictions, but I’ve found it is as the Bible verse goes like giving pearls to pigs.  They squash them into the mud and use the interaction divisively to verbally abuse you.

The right has found their audience and found a way to give them a buttress of BS to support their conservative corpratist convictions.

If we can engage, enliven and strengthen the rest, then we can really make progress.

  13. Dennis Curtindale | May 6, 2012 at 9:26 am |

This video makes OWS and FOX seem more trivial then what either are supposed to stand for. We should support both because they are giving two well needed opinions in this video. OWS is standing for a United States run by the people who live here, using their rights that our mothers and fathers have created or earned for us. FOX news is standing for a United States where people should take care of themselves and stop complaining that life isn’t free, while also being some type of evil corporation (probably controlled by aliens) with jerk correspondents.
Every person in the United States should feel blessed by what we have and not expect too much because we are only taking from ourselves and future generations. Everything needs to start again on an individual level. No government needs to hold your hand from your cradle until your grave. Take care of yourself and then take care of this country the best you can, and also STOP WATCHING CABLE!!!

    • Jin The Ninja | May 6, 2012 at 11:21 am |

fox news says nothing worthwhile for the exact reasons you stated above, so your points about WHY it is important are actually why it is important to NOT pay attention to anti humanist reich wing dribble. that is a very dysfunctional perspective on society. no man is an island in a post-globalised world (especially). you are right though , life isn’t ‘free’ it’s ‘cheap’ – death is easy. war is america’s ‘right.’ (bullshit), and oil is plentiful (eyeroll).

    • At least stop watching cable news.

  14. Sean Hannity is one fucked-up person! This is the kind of shit that really makes me angry! I give great respect to this occupier and many others who do not fall for this kind of baiting.  Man, if I was sitting there as this gentleman did, Mr. Hannity would be suffering from a fucking broken jaw!

  15. Dane Collins | May 6, 2012 at 3:59 pm |

It’s clear that Fox intentionally chose an unemployed young person to be their spokesperson for the movement, because it helps advance their narrative.  Then he only lets the guy answer personal questions about his employment status.

  16. So, when the same media sources whine and complain about the high unemployment numbers
and how Obama ruined the economy…can we simply say that these people need to get up at
6am, shove some coffee down their throats, and pound the pavement?

  17. I wonder how many people they talked to about doing this beforehand,  I was very involved and met a lot of people there, many of which had jobs, as do I.  The only reason I’m not there is I am working in philly.  Also, I had never met that guy.  Plus, how come fox news did interviews at the park and of course the intelligent people didn’t get put on the news when that happen.  I would love fox news to interview me so I can put them in there place.  I have nothing to hide.  I invite them to email me

    • Chris,

I’m not a part of OWS.  I’ve tried to figure out exactly what it’s about and I can’t.  It’s not helped by the fact that the media tends to put on clowns like Schultz who basically make themselves, and the movement look like a bunch of selfish, immature idiots.

Would you please post what the movement is about, in your eyes?

And, in the interests of fairness, I’ll tell you that I’m a Libertarian.  So, we will probably agree on some things and disagree on others.

I’m not trying to turn you into a Libertarian, or play a game of gotcha.  I’d really like to have a civil conversation so we can learn what we can from each other.

  18. SocialismWorks | May 7, 2012 at 12:45 am |

My god this OWS guy is why the right wing hates us. You have to know your audience. I would have handled this  a million times better. Instead of telling him why we should be entitled actually point out the problems with capitalism. Bring up some facts about CEO wages vs the common worker. Talk about as we become more efficient as a society less jobs are needed to preform the same task, and capitalism is simply about maximizing efficiency while decreasing costs. I would talk about how free trade has screwed us, how the minimum standard for getting a job is a college degree which costs thousands of dollars and runs us into debt. This man feels way to entitled and isn’t providing any real solutions and he sure as hell isn’t providing any middle ground. Embarrassing.

    • Jin The Ninja | May 7, 2012 at 8:47 am |

what’s embarassing is that you would have OWS concede the center to the right.

    • I’m with you 100% on this comment.  Schultz made a complete ass of himself.  I disagree with his message and his manners and pretty much dismiss the thought that he’s someone with anything worthwhile to say.

He was, in fact, so obnoxious that I have to wonder if he’s a Fox plant, or perhaps they just picked the worst example of an occupier that they could find.  As a Libertarian, I would normally not have much to say to someone with the tag “Socialismworks”.  But, seeing as how you do seem to try and put yourself in other people’s shoes, I will reach out to you.  As Disinformation likes to point out, you are being lied to.  Yes, we are taught that we have a capitalist economic system.  That’s what both the schools and the media tell us.  But, it’s not true.  You can call our system crony capitalism, corporatism or it’s old name fascism.  It’s a system which favors the rich.  Basically, the government & big business work together to make sure that the rich & powerful get richer and more powerful while the poor and middle classes remain cogs in the machine.  It’s a rigged game.  The criticisms you make are valid.  But, you’re attacking the wrong target, which is exactly what they want.  It’s hard to fight back when you don’t know who the enemy is.  Fact is, Occupy and the Tea party have a lot more in common than they know.  Occupy says that the problem is that corporations have gotten too powerful.  The Tea Party says that the government has gotten to powerful.  They’re both right.  But, you’re not going to solve the problem by focusing your efforts on one half of it.

  19. that football was just icing on the shitcake

  20. I wish he would interview me I have a job, go to school and would CRUSH him!  but of coarse I won’t be. Hey sean guess what! your viewership is down 50% liar

    • I also have a job and go to school.  I know it’s damn hard.  So, I’m wishing you the best.

I don’t know anything about your debating skills.  But, at least you’d have standing to make your arguments.

  21. can’t expect anything less from someone who has a degree

  22. derk murgler | May 8, 2012 at 2:57 am |

i like when he catches the football. good job champ

  23. so OWS is organized by Robb Stark?

    • Jin The Ninja | May 9, 2012 at 11:55 am |

i’ve noticed a passing resemblance between rupert murdoch and tywin lannister myself.

  24. The Girl With a Job | May 11, 2012 at 2:33 am |

This kid got slammed. He didn’t have his ideas straight. You know Hannity is gonna come at you full force. Don’t tell him that you are living off student loans from “grad school” when you don’t goto school. This kid basically admited to stealing money from the government. But this is why the whole OWS things is a joke and done. No goal that they are heading for. Just hey i want to stop people from making money. Not gonna happen. These kids should go back to school and get a education. They are wasting their time and money on pipe dreams. Also how you gonna get a job when you have an arrest record? Interviewer is gonna love that. “I see you graduated with a degree in liberal arts. And it says you were arrested in 2011. tell me about it”

    • The kid agreed to a gun fight and walked in there with no bullets.  The results were predictable. I’m no great fan of Hannity’s.  but, I’ve gotta admit, he’s usually prepared.

      • Jin The Ninja | May 12, 2012 at 11:38 am |

well prepared to spew lies and vitriole. the smartest man in the room isn’t the one frothing at the mouth, shouting more loudly than everyone else. quite the opposite.

    • CapnCanard | May 11, 2012 at 2:53 pm |

are you okay? Everything alright? Is it reasonable to presume that your obtuse beliefs and ignorance are likely to be a burden to your life without guilt? Don’t fret, I suspect you are young and you may make it yet.  The OWS guy will have to pay the loans which is not free money. Loans cost money, that is how banks make money. The loans will follow him around until they are paid off and no, a declaration of any chapter of bankruptcy will NOT forgive student debt. This looks like it will be the next bubble to burst for America. (try to follow: if banks are guaranteed a return then why not give out loans as far as the eye can see? there is no risk for the bank! and it is a license to make profit/money!)Given your underdeveloped knowledge, I suspect you support the .01%, if so then CONGRATULATIONS! you win and YOUR IGNORANCE IS SCREWING US ALL. Nice.  And did you enjoy stealing crumbs from the mouths of the starving poor children, the very same children who will be paying for your bourgeois American life style for the next 100 years? You must swell with pride…

  25. Typical government educated left wing socialist idiot wanting everything given to him….free healthcare, education, home, transportation…etc……etc. Well who’s going to pay for it……..uh,duh…..the governments gonna pay for it by taxing all those evil rich people.I shouldn’t have to work for anything I want or need……I’m entitled to it ’cause all my socialist/communist college professors said I am!
We are following in the same footsteps as Greece and the other European countries that are going belly up…..what the hell makes people think we won’t suffer the same fate? But then again it’s not thinking with common sense that drives these people but jealousy and emotions!

    • Jin The Ninja | May 12, 2012 at 10:41 am |

another un educated reich wing red baiter who is stuck on limbaugh-repeat. perhaps don’t caricature another, when you yourself are such an outmoded archetype.

    • Yeah, doesn’t he know you have to get a job before you go to school?  Just like all those stupid sick and injured people who don’t realize you have to work hard to get well.

  26. Dimoney2310 | May 12, 2012 at 6:03 pm |

    this interview was stupid.

  27. discusthrower | May 12, 2012 at 6:13 pm |

“I learned it from watching you!”  What a way to end an interview.  … there are smart people involved in occupy but they have other professional titles.  Such as professors, authors, etc.

Had Hannity said the word rapist a few more times I think he coulda’ scored a touchdown at the end there….  The first time Sweet Sean mentioned that park I thought that he said something about the guy being psychotic down at the park.

This is showbiz, honey, where’s the money come from?  Spike that football, TOUCHDOWN!!

  28. stop posting shit from FOX news, its not funny, not illuminating or constructive. Its just bear baiting.

  29. Sean hannity’s interview technique is something folks need to study before going on.  #1.. he doesn’t fight fair, doesn’t let his interviewees speak, just pounds them on one point until they submit.  The only people I Have ever seen handle themselves well is Janeane Garafalo and Daryl Hannah..  Study the Janeane Garafalo interview.. she totally nails him..

You cannot go on Hannity unprepared.. He uses VERY manipulative interviewing tactics and it works well for him if you go in thinking he is going to play fair.. he NEVER does..

    • Monkey See Monkey Do | May 16, 2012 at 11:35 am |

Where can I find that Janeane Garafalo interview? I love that girl. 🙂

  30. Flippypog | May 16, 2012 at 2:16 pm |

Sean Hannity is a certified a-hole, but unfortunately his listeners are also certifiable. Anyone in this country who believes this clap-trap coming from Fox News has also fallen into the trance that will eventually result in this country going to the fascists (i.e. Repubs).

  31. Sean Hannity ripped that kid a new one.  Hahaha

  32. axisofinfinity | May 17, 2012 at 7:24 pm |

Wtf they threw him a football at the end. How can people not see fox is just a giant joke on them.

  33. Jesse Livingston | May 17, 2012 at 11:13 pm |

Wow, what an a-hole that douche bag interviewer is?  Perfect example of a poor education and simply provoking, no different than jerry springer or a bully.  I would have knocked him out within a few minutes of constantly being interrupted.

  34. mickysrevenge | May 20, 2012 at 4:49 pm |

Now I remember why i don’t watch Hannity. The guy is a Bully, & an over-paid bully at that. If your going to invite someone on your show, I’d hope you’d give them a chance to answer your stupid questions.. And its been a known fact for a while that, police depts around the Country do sleazy things like send in Plain Clothes officers (wearing hoods, & masks over their faces) to start trouble so they an send in riot police. New York PD are veterans at pulling that crap, & I wouldn’t doubt for a second they’d send rapist down to the rally & give them cart-blanch to rape whoever they want. Not only do I, “Not watch Hannity”, but I threw my TV out of my house because its got nothing but garbage anyways.

    Enough Said!

  35. anonniemouse | May 21, 2012 at 1:43 am |

Sean Hannity is such an asshat…I seriously couldn’t even finish watching this….

  36. Lwhusarmy | Jun 4, 2012 at 1:39 pm |

This guy gets his medical, college and living expenses from the government. Where does that come from TAXPAYERS and capitalism. Go live in a socialist country and see how you like it dumbass.
