Welcome To The Anthropocene

Planet Under Pressure commissioned a 3-minute animated film showing the last 250 years of our history, from the start of the Industrial Revolution to the Rio+20 Summit. The film charts the growth of humanity into a global force on an equivalent scale to major geological processes. Whether you agree with the filmmakers’ conclusions or not (comment below), I suspect you’ll admit that it’s a pretty cool piece of animation:

        No it won’t. You could saturate nuclear bomb every square mile of the surface of the planet and in 25 million years life will be teeming and diverse once again.

          While I agree with you, i still think there are little specs of value around that would be lost(given i’d probably admit to this being hubris if you pressed hard enough).

            It’s not cancer. Objectively speaking It’s an ultra complicated bacteria. The bacteria is playing some sort of role in the evolution of the earth. We might destroy ourselves or we might not either way it would have probably been for the best.

    Thank goodness not everyone is asleep. Who are all these organisations? Who runs them? Who pays for them all to produce misinformation and propaganda? What is this Malthusian, population control, over population lie, regular folks are at fault and should be euthenised crud??? Yes there are problems, no doubt, but a propaganda machine with hundreds of fake puppet NGO’s gobbling up robbed cash donated by the banco-corporate-petro-pharmochem industry don’t want exotic, clean and sustainable energy technology, natural curing products and care, clean bio diverse agriculture and use of organic systems to produce clean, healthy nutriant filled food. NO, modified illness causing foods, distructive chemicals in eco systems, food, water and air. The insanity, lack of vision, understanding, wisdom, true humanity, morals, ethics and or integrity has no place in these peoples make up. Any fool including I with an iota of intelect can reason this. Almost everything we are told about education, history, politics, energy, food, ecosystems, the stars is a manipulation to inject our minds and bodies with their insanity and fear. You really can’t teach anyone how to see, they either do or do not. If you have been programmed, de programme (your iq is irrelevent when it comes to brain washing). If you are a drone, seek the systems of another hive. If you are an ostrich; you will pass away as we all do, take your head out of the sand, communicate, exchange, socialise and reduce your fear.
