Inexperienced Hypnotist Leaves Canadian Teens Trapped In Trance

Ever feel as if you’ve been enveloped in a trance for your whole life? Via Russia Today:

A hypnotism show at a private girls’ high school went strangely awry after a young hypnotist put several teenage students in a “mass hypnosis” trance and had to call in his mentor for help to bring them out.

At College du Sacre-Coeur in Quebec, school administrators decided to celebrate the end of the year’s studies with the hypnotism show and invited a 20-year-old hypnotist to entertain a group of 12- and 13-year-old girls. Maxime Nadeau worked on a small group while others watched the show. When it came time to end the event, several girls in the audience remained under hypnosis and could not snap out of it, no matter what Nadeau did.

The hypnotist had to call in his mentor and trainer, Richard Whitbread to help him out. Whitbread arrived in an hour. “There were a couple of students who had their heads lying on the table and there were [others] who, you could tell, were in a trance,” Whitbread later described what he saw to CBC Montreal. “The eyes were open and there was nobody home.”

“I don’t know how to explain it. It’s like you’re no longer there,” one of the girls, Émilie Bertrand explained. “You’re spaced out.”

Their poor, pliable little minds have already been softened up by media exposure and zombie society….

    Do as you’re told!!!

  2. some easy lovers try to leave me locked in a trance when they try to cut me off unexpectedly, but i know their end game. At least these people will know for sure hypnotism is real.

qualified clinical hypnotherapist here…. no one can get “trapped” in trance. It simply isn’t possible. It isn’t how hypnosis (a mixture of demand characteristics, placebo and a “positive cognitive set”) works, and it isn’t how the human brain works. These kind of myths are enduring, but there is no reality and no evidence whatsoever for any of them. Sorry to be a party pooper.

Alternatively, the two hypnotists were trolled by a bunch of 13 y/os.

  5. how odd
most of Amerika has been in a hypnotic trance for at least the last 100 years
maybe its time to call Dick Whitebread to save us

    • I have a magician buddy who occasionally does stage hypnotism.

He says: “Most people are walking around in some kind of trance all the time. I just kind of nudge them into an adjacent trance for a few minutes.”

We now return you to your previously scheduled trance, already in progress.

      • “Most people are walking around in some kind of trance all the time.
I just kind of nudge them into an adjacent trance for a few minutes.”

this fact has not been lost on the CIA gang
        and their support agencies:
Hollywood, Network TV, the Free Press and the Advertising Industry

You really can hypnotize people in every day situations. Quickly and easily. but it takes some skills.  the best part is everyone do it anyway. and some people learn it for the wrong purpose.
