Stop goddamn calling it libertarianism, it’s right-libertarianism.

  2. How can they be “shocked” to discover Rand Paul is an establishment man, and fail to notice that Ron Paul has ZERO criticisms of his son?

…the same way they adopted Ron Paul as some kind of hero?

Seriously, how are Paulinistas able to stay naive for so long about rabid racists like Lew Effing Rockwell (who Paul has now taken to implying wrote his racist newsletters back in the 90’s), or the fact that they’re surrounded by hardcore right-wingers in the US “libertarian” movement? Just because they call themselves “libertarian” doesn’t mean you OWE them the benefit of the doubt!

It doesn’t mean you MUST ignore the decades of hate-mongering and connections to racist organizations (like Stormfront). It doesn’t mean you can’t look skeptically at them the same way you look skeptically at ANY OTHER POLITICIAN, to see what kinds of manipulations they might be involved in too. Jesus, is it that hard to use Google?

Look what comes up in the first page of search results when you search “Ron Paul newsletter + Lew Rockwell” (-site: excludes the sites you list, so you can find something more objective, not straight from their propaganda hubs):

Is it that hard to be skeptical of someone who says the right things, just because you think you HAVE to pick someone to believe in? But why should that be, given the extent of the corruption that these people are well familiar with already? After studying and cataloging all the corruption, and lies, and media manipulations, the layers and layers of obfuscation and misdirection — how does anyone turn right around and just throw their blind trust on ANY candidate?

How does anyone get taken in by another politician after studying the dark side of American power?

Look, guys — Abby and Robbie — there isn’t ONE Libertarianism, and Ron Paul is less of a libertarian and supporter of the Constitution than he is a paleo-conservative and a supporter of the “Declaration of Immediate Causes which May Induce and Justify the Secession”. Seriously, step out of that American “libertarianism” bubble with Klan apologists like Paul and fundie whack-jobs like Alex Jones. You won’t have to keep struggling to square the circle between Ayn Rand and Fundamentalist Christianity.

Go find a copy of “Government in the Future” by Noam Chomsky. Read some Bakunin or David Graeber. There’s more than one “libertarian” circus in town.
