Put The Gun In Your Own Mouth

I can’t say this enough. Do NOT dye your hair red. Do not study neuroscience. Before going into a movie which I enjoyed, stick the gun in your own mouth.

The Joker would agree.

I don’t care if you have had problems.

You are destroying our FAILED news media right now.

I do not want to spend tax dollars on you.

Kill yourself.

NOW.

The opinion expressed above is solely that of the author and The Disinformation Company does not necessarily agree with or endorse his opinion.

“You are destroying our FAILED news media right now.”

    absolutely agree.

i do not have cable, nor would i ever pay for cable. however, today i was at a family member’s home, and she has cable- and i casually flipped through the channels and somehow landed on CNN. i proceeded to watch this strange/fascinating beast’s attempt at discourse/dissecting the u of colorado neuroscience program. they repeated the same point for over 20 minutes.

“wolf, it is a highly selective program.” “wolf, only 10 people a year are admitted.” “wolf, the program has faculty advisers.” “wolf, the process for withdrawal includes faculty advisors.” “wolf, the university is being defensive.” “wolf, we don’t know his grades.”wolf, he withdrew voluntarily.”

after each statement by the on ground reporter, wolf blitzer proceeded to re-ask the same question or even repeat the reporter’s statement as a question.

i thought, even as a DEEPLY jaded little eurasian hipster (with no small interest in media studies), if this is the true state of discourse we’re so much more f*cked than i ever even conceived. and then i watched ‘pick a puppy’ on tlc (first time!)….

“DEEPLY jaded little eurasian hipster” – I see this one coming back to haunt you, Jin! :)

      • Jin The Ninja

probably;) but i wrote it,so i’ll live with it.

Off-topic, but… totally the story of my life…

          • Jin The Ninja

            lol. i get you!

    • Beardguy

lol. i had to go out of my way to say right on. usually you have a pompous tone to your posts but this one was great.
And I know exactly what you mean by visiting a family member and discovering the horrors of cable TV hahahaha
      great post!

      • Jin The Ninja

         lol thanks.

“You are destroying our FAILED news media right now.”

Wouldn’t you agree that “destroying our FAILED news media” would be a good thing?

      • Jin The Ninja

yes. and of course i agree.  i was just referencing ralph’s original post. i think the media works as an actively destructive force, not only for itself, but for culture and society (in particular but not limited to american).  i don’t see this case as actively contributing to the decline of the media, in so much as i see it as an active example of the complete lunacy of the media.

    cool facebook post, bro

“The opinion expressed above is solely that of the author and The Disinformation Company does not necessarily agree with or endorse his opinion.”I should say not!  The Dark Night Rises was by far the weakest of the trilogy and does a disservice to the Batman mythos!  Disinfo would not want to be associated with someone who enjoyed a movie with such copious plotholes.  [Plotholes redacted for those who have yet to see this movie.]

  • Jackedu317

    WTF?

  • MadHierophant

Why cant people just go catatonic when they lose their shit? It’s common courtesy!

  • Jeebus

It is my opinion that this guy does not deserve the death penalty, but solitary confinement with a constant feed of just a few scenes from the movie and the stories of the ones he so brutally murdered on a loop 24/7 for the rest of his life, fed nothing but the bare necessities for life, never allowed to see the sunlight or look out a window.

You’re assuming that he’ll ever feel bad about it. That would probably satisfy him very much.

completely disagree to say that someone that has  serious mental issues should go kill themselves  is a ridiculous statement because they can’t help it. And how is he destroying the media   it’s  either they talk about a real issue like this or talk about the kardashians  i much rather here them speak of the first one personally.  Saying someone should go kill themselves because your just annoyed  is childish

  • guest

we mutually agree then  The media has always been that way though  its just another form of entertainment

    • Shakingman

The media thinks it has a “right” to deliver because the audience wants to be informed of every gory detail that goes on in this fucked up world.

  • Wastelandindustrial

Thanks for fucking it up for everyone that dies their hair red you fucking cocksucker. Fuck you very much!

  • guest

my real question is why do they think it is a homage to the joker . the joker never had red hair am i the only one that noticed this

    • http://www.pathtoodd.com/ SeasonLaurel

Umm yeah wtf is with that?  They are grabbing at straws without any other info. He’s “obsessed” with batman because they found one mask?  I have a hannah montana wig but Im not obsessed with her….I just had an ex that used to be! Hah!

    Is this post a joke?

  • Shadow Jean

Kinda stupid headline since where he is going to get a gun now? I think working at Mcdonald’s is an underated factor in him snapping. I think it was a powerful shaper of his misanthropy and need to lash out. When you work at Micky D’s you feel like shit about yourself and the people you serve disgust you beyond belief. And what about that other neuroscience assassinette at the University of Alabama-Huntsville? Can too much science make you think of humans as so many expendable lab rats? Probably.

  • Walden3

They key thing about this past thursday’s event’s is that it’s an honest reminder to be grateful for what you have while you still have it. It’s also remind’s us  of how fear can go against logic(based on the fact it has impacted some people’s will to see the movie within the first few day’s of the shooting although it is very unlikely it would cause someone to become a copycat. My heart goes out to those affected by all of this. I hope our people see the real lesson’s in this instead of letting the hate and fear consume them, Very much like James Holmes.

You should take your own advice, you red nosed little cock tassel! Disinfo is becoming increasingly irrelevant! Someone please fire this jackass!

lol you thought disinfo was relevent…

      • lifobryan

While I largely disagree with you (mainly because I appreciate the broader point about the media that I think Ralph was making), I nevertheless think that “red nosed little cock tassel” is one of the funniest insults I’ve read in a long time. Ha!!

  • Lifobryan

I suspect that what you are really getting at here is that the Media should put a gun in its mouth.

    I can’t say I disagree.

Contemporary US media not only slurps on tragedy like an overweight vampire sucking down an icy  Blood Slushy in the 7-11 parking lot, it is also a quivering, black-toothed meth-myth addict to simplistic dualist thinking:

CNN: “Tell me Mr. Democrat what you think of this tragedy?

Democrat: “Well Wolf, it just goes to show that if our party were in charge, the fuzzy gray line dividing ‘neanderthal 2nd amendment misinterpretation for political gain’ from ‘willful oblivion of obvious ramification’ would be MUCH MORE CLEAR.”

    CNN: And you, Mr. Republican?

    Republican: “Braaaaaiiiins ………….!”

CNN: And THERE you have it! The only two points of view worth reporting. Now back to more footage of weeping families and frowny-face reporters pretending they aren’t just JIZZING over this ….

  • Disappointed

Can there be less of this please? I come here to Disinfo for the interesting and unusual stories, not as a platform for stupid people to let their ugly, angry personal opinions out.

And now for something completely schadenfreude.

Please explain what you mean: “You are destroying our FAILED news media right now”.

    ????????????

  • http://buzzcoastin.posterous.com BuzzCoastin

    > You are destroying our FAILED news media right now.

    Nonsense!
the fright wig hair, the venue, the action itself
were all designed with the mass media in mind
it’s obvious this dude (or his handlers) intended to create a media spectacle
    along media spectacle guidelines

but this was really disturbing part for me:
“Before going into a movie which I enjoyed, stick the gun in your own mouth.”
He ruined your propaganda, Hollywood whore experience
so he should kill himself before he does that?

That statement is destroying our FAILED news media right now.

  • cakeypig

Sorry but ‘Put the gun in your own mouth’ would mean even more violence.

  • tooCents

Agreed. IF you’re some asshole that thinks about killing anyone, please blow your head off.

  • Gquell

    Baba Doo! Hambada hambada!

  • Hazy Daisy

James Holmes has committed the perfect crime. It will unravel later, but, for now, it cannot be solved. Every gumshoe, every hack, every shrink is on the case, and all they’ve got is a howling, freezing black hole where a reason should be. The pundits cry, strangers mourn, the president himself rends his garments, eyes cast heavenward, promising that from here on in, things will get better. It doesn’t help that they’ve got the perp, shivering in solitary: what they really want, all that they ever really want, is a reason, and there isn’t one.

    • lifobryan

We’re a society who DESPERATELY needs to turn the page … hoping that what’s on the next page will be better, or will at least solve the riddle. Something mysterious or disturbing MUST have a conclusion, or a reason, … or (that stupid-ass word,) “closure.” If something nags at us and makes us question or think or mourn, we can’t handle it. We have to return as quickly as we can to the numbed stasis of knowing. “Why” did he do it? “What” is his penalty for doing it? Once we have both of those ‘reasons’ safely in hand we can move on & forget a senseless tragedy happened. Even the word “senseless” itself gives us a false comfort or closure. But that forgetting will not un-make a horror. And more likely than not, “closure” will be one more spoke in an ever-turning wheel that keeps rotating back through tragedy, forgetting, and tragedy again. We are sick, numb, little fucks.

  • iniquitousness

    Its all a hoax

  • iniquitousness

The perfect crime?  Dunno…  It depends who is doing the crime?

I don’t study neuroscience, but I dye my hair red. I also suffer from a mental illness and I would put the gun in my mouth before aiming it at another person…If life is that bad for me, there is no point in spreading the pain I feel…I also wouldn’t take my own life because it hurts people I care about…but still I know my family would prefer suicide over murder if I had to pick one.
