The DisinfoCast: Episode 17: Emil Chiaberi: ‘Murder by Proxy: How America Went Postal’

In the pre-dawn hours of July 20, a heavily armed 24 year-old doctoral student named James Eagan Holmes entered an Aurora, Coloroda theater and started firing during a midnight screening of The Dark Knight Rises. In a matter of minutes, a dozen men, women and children were dead, and scores more wounded. Holmes turned himself over to police, reportedly telling them that he was Batman’s nemesis The Joker.

It was an incomprehensible crime, but only on in a long line of mass murders committed in the United States. What drives people to do such a thing? Troubled by this perhaps unanswerable question, I called Emil Chiaberi, the director, writer and producer of a gripping new documentary on the phenomenon of mass murders: Murder by Proxy: How America Went Postal.

  1. It’s easy, it’s all in the mix, add lots of psychopathy, harsh economic times and lots of frustration (lack of social welfare to try to pick these people up), lax gun controls and voila, regular mass murders.
Other countries have them but they are a rarity, US has them virtually monthly.
Free mental health, costly but guess what it helps to prevent, choose differently.

Had a talk with a guy earlier. He thinks theres some larger Conspiracy

“This is all part of the justification for the UN Arms ban.”

“He said he was the Joker, what about that? What does this has to do with the UN?”

“Well, the Joker would be perfect. He opposes Authority in all its forms.”

    Me: “What?!”

I guess he just didn’t like Batman movies, and had it in for anyone who did.

Kaczynski Overtones…Colorado Batman shooting shows obvious signs of being stagedMike Adams
    Natural News
July 21, 2012James Holmes, the Aurora, Colorado shooter who reportedly opened fire at a Batman movie premiere, was a medical student at the University of Colorado, pursuing a PhD in neuroscience, reports ABC News. (…)As part of the attack, Holmes painted his hair red and referred to himself as “The Joker,” one of the arch enemies in the DC Comics-inspired Batman movie series. (…)According to news reports, this sudden violent rampage was completely out of character for James Holmes, who was described as “shy.”
The New York Times is now reporting:
Billy Kromka, a pre-med student at the University of Colorado, Boulder, worked with Mr. Holmes for three months last summer as a research assistant in a lab of at the Anschutz Medical Campus. Mr. Kromka said he was surprised to learn Mr. Holmes was the shooting suspect. “It was just shocking, because there was no way I thought he could have the capacity to do commit an atrocity like this,” he said.(…)“He spent much of his time immersed in the computer, often participating in role-playing online games…”There is already conjecture that James Holmes may have been involved in mind-altering neuroscience research and ended up becoming involved at a depth he never anticipated. His actions clearly show a strange detachment from reality, indicating he was not in his right mind. That can only typically be accomplished through drugs, hypnosis or trauma (and sometimes all three). His behavior doesn’t add up

    • His behavior ‘doesn’t add up’…if one ignores most of the other data surrounding his personal history…including a mother who, while horrified by his actions, wasn’t shocked that they occurred. The people who knew him best…knew he was fragmenting over a period of months…in a downward spiral that was hard to guess at or intrude on because he was 24…not 16, and as an adult could avoid family intervention as long as he wasn’t arrested. The people who didn’t know him at all…and coincidentally sell fear for a living…seem to draw entirely different conclusions than the anyone else would. Curious, no?

I’ve noted a LOT of attempts to explain away gun violence in the US as the product of govt..,.rather than embrace the terrible possibility that crazy people can easily acquire large caches of weaponry and then kill people with them.

I support gun ownership, gun use, and even CCW licenses as long as people can prove some legitimate level of sanity and competence. Lets leave that aside and just speak realistically about the consequences of selling guns to crazy people…and blaming the results on everything EXCEPT selling guns to crazy people. Shrill hysterics from Mike Adams and Alex Jones are not just crass at a time like this…they are downright evil. An amoral opportunism to sell snake oil from atop a pile of innocent bodies. I appreciate the concern that guns might wind up excessively restricted without due cause…but there is a clear middle ground where people could work out a better arrangement than the US has now…where a man can be handed 300k in unmarked bills by a narco rep, walk into a store, but a truckload of weaponry, hand it to the narco rep…and keep a few grand for his troubles while gangsters get all the guns they can kill with…legally…and the feds have to st on their hands and watch because they haven’t got the legal right to intervene. Knowing when to call it quits and just admit they we aren’t doing ourselves any favors by letting guns into the hands of killers and maniacs…is just common sense…not treason (unless you are a manufacturer…whose sole purpose in life is to move product at a profit…then reducing sales, even dodgy ones, does seem like treason. Not a coincidence that the manufacturers opinion happens to be shared almost word for word by certain media outlets, don’t you think?).

Don’t jump on the bandwagon of idiocy and sell yourself short. Whether you and I agree about certain issues or not…you are a thinking person who usually does some bookwork to back up his claims. Granted…I think the bookwork is still faulty on certain topics, but that doesn’t change the fact that I respect a certain preparation and forethought. This drek isn’t worthy of you…and deserves to be panned as the rantings of callous media prostitutes making their agenda grab highlights as people suffer and die. Adams and Jones are the lowest common denominator…and deserve neither your trust or your effort to disseminate their froth and bile.

  5. since before the US was Der Homeland
it has been killing anyone and everyone
    that impedes its Manifest Destiny

in the last 11 years it has been waging a jihad against Muslims
with millions wounded, displaced and killed
not to mention it’s secret African wars and its secret CIA torture prisons

but somehow an upwelling of violent behavior among Amerikans
    is considered aberrant behavior
and Joe Sixpack has never heard the expression
    what goes around comes around
