Feds Continue Crackdown on California’s Medical Marijuana Dispensaries

Raw Story reports that the Department of Justice is pressuring landlords to evict medical marijuana dispensaries from their properties. Two dispensaries, HopeNet and Vapor Room, both report that their landlords received letters threatening them with seizure of property and other penalties unless the shops were closed. The scare tactics are in sharp contrast to the government’s earlier assurances:

Nine San Francisco-area dispensaries have closed since last November, when 600 landlords across California were first contacted regarding the clubs operating in their buildings.

In June, U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder said only dispensaries breaking state law would be targeted, which made HopeNet’s closing particularly frustrating to Smith – she had served on the city’s Medical Marijuana Task force and helped put together the 2006 local ordinance expanding tolerance for smoking marijuana on private property.

  1. I would like to know how California’s medical marijuana laws have affected the illegal sale of marijuana in the state. The feds undoubtedly have a hand in the illegal drug trafficking game. I wonder if their pockets got a little lighter since the law was passed. This could be a good reason for why they are cracking down on legal shops so badly.

Nothing’s enough for those greedy bastards. Not to mention their hand in the pharmaceutical industries but that’s just icing on their cake.

  2. Obama will legalize or decriminalize weed in his second term.  That’s change we can live with!

I’d love for that to be true. Do you have anything that suggests that?

      Wanna make a bet?

    • BULLSHIT. He lied about doing that in his first term probably so that he would get much of the youth’s vote, and now just rudely laughs off the question and does not provide a sufficient answer when it comes up – despite hundreds of thousands of people voting on it being asked of Obama.

What information have you come across that would suggest Obama decriminalizing cannabis?

I’d bet quite a bit of money that he’s just another lying bastard (see: politician) but who happens to be better at speaking/lying/misleading/manipulation than most of them, and who has the power of black skin on his side.

    • that’s pure bull shit
      i needed some organic fertilizer
