    Give yourself a break, G.I.!  While you’re out fighting in the trenches, watching your freinds die around all you, your wife is home all alone, with only the daily visit of the milman to break the routine of her lonely day.  Not a thing you can do about it.

    Or is there?  Is this fight worth it, Joe?  Mighty Mother Russia’s will to survive is indomitable.  Her resources are fathomless.  Just when you think you have overcome the last of her regiments, she charges forth with a host of new batallions.  She has seen the destruction of many proud and foolhearty invaders before–Napoleon, Kaiser Wilhelm, Hitler.

    Is this to be your reward as well?  An anymous grave in a foreign land?  Give up, Joe.  It’s not too late.
