It's impossible to re-think something they never thought about in the first place.

This is white culture, this happens every day “weekend” at home. This is how our minds handle being controlled all the time. They have to have no control “a break”, the next day they are ready to fight. These men miss there family, their homes, they need a break. Mindless people always attack with out putting on the other guys shoes. Some of us must follow orders or there will be no order. We need a world position. We have now hit the BEE- HIVE with a stick should we run or suit up?

I reject your statement that this is “white culture”. This is immature culture. It is irresponsible culture. These are contractors, not military personnel. They are not there under orders. I might be less appalled if they were. They are there to get paid to play war – mercenaries. I am ashamed that our tax dollars are paying these men to represent our government’s interests. A staff medic doped up on ketamine? How can you be so forgiving?

Your tax dollars aren’t paying them to represent government interests so much as colonial interests. That’s true of regular military personnel as well as mercs.
At least the mercs are smart enough to realize that.

Well, that is a bigger issue, isn’t it? The purpose of the military?
I overheard, in a pizza-buffet joint, a teenage girl with children complaining about how hard it was to pass the [state's standardized test required for graduation], so she was going to join the military – probably the Air Force, because they had a better program for parents. And it the whole program became clear to me.
Make them obedient workers, or make them fight in the wars.
I wonder how many military these days truly join out of patriotism or because they are simply out of options. I almost did. It is for this reason that I might (*might) have more sympathy for military personnel – not the for military, and certainly not for the ideologues directing the show.

I don’t think any service, much less the Air Force, still takes high school drop outs, do they?

GED plus some college, apparently, can get you in. Makes sense, with all the high tech stuff, these days.
It still remains a more viable option for many rather than accrue a mountain of debt for college loans with zero guarantee of a job afterwards.

& so many people deny that these are even mercenaries, that because they are a.) hired by the US government, & b.) Americans, they aren’t mercenaries, they are ‘contractors’. Which is pretty much what mercenaries have always been anyway!
In the war of words (War on Words?) the US government is winning simply due to the patriotism it’s packaged in.

Actually they aren’t mercenaries. That has a very specific definition in international law. Off the top of my head (ie don’t quote me) in order to NOT be a mercenary a person has to be a citizen of a nation who is a party to the conflict and can’t be paid substantially more than what a regular solider is paid to do the same job. While these guys are probably paid A LOT more than a local or US solider would be paid they are US citizens and so aren’t technically mercenaries in the legal sense.
Now, you and I both know they fill the exact same roll as mercenaries but that is neither here nor there.
