Assange has spoken, but will anyone listen in the afterglow of Obama’s reelection?

LONDON — WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange on Wednesday described re-elected President Barack Obama was a “wolf in sheep’s clothing” and said he expected the US government to keep attacking the anti-secrecy website.

Speaking to AFP by telephone from Ecuador’s London embassy, where he sought asylum in June in a bid to avoid extradition to Sweden over sex crime allegations, Assange said Obama’s victory was no cause for celebration.

“Obama seems to be a nice man, and that is precisely the problem,” the 41-year-old Australian told AFP, after the president defeated Republican Mitt Romney on Tuesday night to sweep back into the White House.

“It’s better to have a sheep in wolf’s clothing than a wolf in sheep’s clothing.”

Assange complained of the “persecution” of WikiLeaks by Obama’s government.

He added: “All of the activities against WikiLeaks by the United States have occurred under an Obama administration.

The thing about Obama is that the only reason anyone would disagree with him is because they are a racist.
So you can easily dismiss dessent. Not so easy with the lilly white Romney. So that’s what we’re in for. Millions of democrats happily going back to sleep.

Hey Ted, did someone highjack yer account?

WTF is this?: The thing about Obama is that the only reason anyone would disagree with him is because they are a racist. So you can easily dismiss dissent.

You may want to back-off the paid testing at Drug Co., it’s starting to effect your thinking.

Wait buzz, no offense but I understand that Ted is expressing very common ideals among diligent voters. His first thought or sentence is unrefined. It is fact that many feel angry towards the racism pointed toward Obama. Most liberals who voted Obama are deeply loyal to his leadership, which dismisses dissent on their part during this next presidency. Had Romney won the election, there would a greater possibility of unrest happening on this country, He is seen as an egomaniac. . . But since Barrack had won, these democrats will not revolt against someone who they adore. Ted is focusing on the most mainstream aspects of free thought common throughout the USA today, His opinion is very much coming from the middle, and I respect that, even if poorly expressed..

The rest of the comment means “Better a fascist who is see through than one who is perfectly hidden” Obama has so far managed to convince people that he has an agenda. He often shows conviction towards this agenda publicly. This man is completely aware of his mannerisms, just like any leader of his caliber/intelligence would be. So he must have good reason in his own mind for his frequent use of secrecy when it comes to controversial affairs. I remember him once as an advocate for transparency. What information allowed him the compromise to reverse that idea? The nature of our presidents agenda cannot be known without transparency. Remember that actions are better followed then explanations.

Is it not possible, that of all the abuses Obama has committed that do not sit well with us (loss of innocent lives via drones and interventionism, loss of civil liberties and due processes guaranteed to our citizens, etc) are in his mind necessary exceptions to his personal to achieve his goals as president and human being? We know he did not have the power to take lives and set the policies of the nation(s) for most of his life. So we must now imagine he wasn’t always president, and compare younger Obama’s mannerisms and worldview to his character as president. This is one way to understand the dealings of the leader. We can choose conclusions. Does Obama’s ego push forward for himself, or does it allow for selflessness or benevolence?

…Is Obama indeed the Machiavellian behind the scenes manipulator, or is he merely a self important politician? What are the results he wishes to see? Are his ambitions by your own standards, acceptable by your worldview? And if they are, is it ever necessary or okay to compromise your own standards?

Mostly what i mean is, that sometimes something looks bad on the outside, but there is always more to be learned.

          Two things:
          1) a few weeks ago Ted was anarchist & now objecting to Obama is racism
          sumtinz up
          2) with all due respect
those “they must know better” arguments are as passe as Fats’ couch
          (no offense raplh)
it’s not a democracy if secrets rule & expedience overrules law

Obama’s duplicity was astounding to those who actually believed him
so astounding they can hardly acknowledge it
          Assange nailed it cold
          he’s a wolf in sheep’s clothing

Ba Ba black sheep have you any wool to be puled over our eyes?
Yes sir, yes sir, three BIG bags full.
          Two for the masters,
          And none for the dame,
And one for the little boy
          Who lives down Pennsy lane.

That’s sort of what I meant. I try to be more concise though. I don’t think Obama has a big ego though. I think is a middle manager type.

I think sometimes I talk over your head. Sorry.

That’s not even close to being true, haha.

  • BuzzCoastin

You can’t really talk about the Obama psyop without being called a racist.
So this is yet another WikiLeak that goes nowhere.

    • CRJJ

That’s not really true. You can’t say horrible untruths about him and call him a monkey, while wearing a white hood, without being called a racist, haha.

    • http://twitter.com/TedHeistman Ted Heistman

      Yes, that’s my point.

  • johnsmith

They are all goons including Assange. Assange is just pissed that he is not the focus of media coverage and that a goon bigger than him(Obama) is the poster boy for another 4 years.

  • Cody2256

Wait, it could be the other way around, and whoever disagrees with Romney is a racist. And no, thats not the only reason I disagree with him, that doesnt even matter, so you want all of the hard-earned work and actually building your life gone? You want to be given everything? Raise healthcare taxes? Be told that you didnt earn and build your business from the ground up?
Theres alot more. This is 2012, racism is coming to an end in all of the older people, now you have rational (well hopefully), smart generation on the rise.
