A woman in Sweden has been charged with engaging in sexual activities with a human skeleton and could face jail time for disturbing the peace of the dead, a Swedish prosecutor said.

Police found a full human skeleton, skulls and a box containing other human bones by chance after responding to a call saying a shot had been fired from her flat in the city of Gothenburg.

They also discovered CD-ROMs titled “my necrophilia” and “my first experience”, and photographs of the woman engaging in various sexual activities with a skeleton, a court document on the prosecutor’s website showed.

It said the woman had handled the bones in a “shameful” and “unethical” manner…

    I fail to see how this is a legal matter

          I’ll rephrase. Do you think the people who took the skull should be punished as criminals (as with this women who had the remains of others)? Or, because they weren’t doing it in public, they (she) should be free to continue with their morbid pastimes?

            where I say that people who rob graves for ashtrays

            not sure what you’re headed for

            but if you’re asking if people’s weird fetishes should be made illegal
            the answer is no
            if you’re asking me is it ok to rob graves
            only if the graves are over 100 years old

            but the US has a semblance of civil rights

        why shouldn’t it be? I mean sure it’s unhealthy…but that’s the only serious issue I see with it. An empty skull is not a human being and should not be protected like one. Unless you can come up with a person who is being harmed by that, there’s no reason for it to be illegal.

        Granted, if they just stole it from some random grave then that’s theft and should be dealt with accordingly…but the act of using or owning a human skull isn’t really problematic. There _are_ places where you can legally buy human bones. And hell, nobody seems to complain about museums and collectors owning skeletons and human remains — why do they get different treatment just because they’re old or famous?

      “its only illegal if you get caught” seems to apply here. I think people just don’t like to think about what could happen to their bodies after they kick it for good, its not rational but lately nothing ever is. There is also a market for oddities and laws could have been placed to stop people from trying to make a profit on the remains of the unwilling also cops use laws to take away rights when they cant just use brutal force, a cop out. I want to be cremated or shot into deep space, dont give me that osama burial at sea crap.

        you won’t be needing it, where ever it is you’re going
        what living people do with or to it will have no effect upon you, where ever you might be
        and this kind of weird-ass shit with the dead remains of humans
        has been going on since humans became humans
        and some of it was done by force of law
        and some was prohibited by force of law
        and all of it done by human nature

      This is the reality in my country (Sweden). The police is allowed to do what ever they want. They dont need any proof for anything to go into your home and search it. They are allowed to take you or your friends from your couch and submit you to urintests. And when you are judged, it’s 4 laymen selected by the political government that sentence you. Not a jury by equals like in the US. So you are likely to be convicted everytime the gov. wants you too.
