Video Of Voting Machine Changing Obama Vote To Romney

Is this for real? It’s not as if electronic voting machines haven’t been shown to be capable of rigging, but this is just a bit too blatant … isn’t it?

The user who uploaded the video today writes:

My wife and I went to the voting booths this morning before work. There were 4 older ladies running the show and 3 voting booths that are similar to a science fair project in how they fold up. They had an oval VOTE logo on top center and a cartridge slot on the left that the volunteers used to start your ballot.

I initially selected Obama but Romney was highlighted. I assumed it was being picky so I deselected Romney and tried Obama again, this time more carefully, and still got Romney. Being a software developer, I immediately went into troubleshoot mode. I first thought the calibration was off and tried selecting Jill Stein to actually highlight Obama. Nope. Jill Stein was selected just fine. Next I deselected her and started at the top of Romney’s name and started tapping very closely together to find the ‘active areas’. From the top of Romney’s button down to the bottom of the black checkbox beside Obama’s name was all active for Romney. From the bottom of that same checkbox to the bottom of the Obama button (basically a small white sliver) is what let me choose Obama. Stein’s button was fine. All other buttons worked fine.

I asked the voters on either side of me if they had any problems and they reported they did not. I then called over a volunteer to have a look at it. She him hawed for a bit then calmly said “It’s nothing to worry about, everything will be OK.” and went back to what she was doing. I then recorded this video.

There is a lot of speculation that the footage is edited. I’m not a video guy, but if it’s possible to prove whether a video has been altered or not, I will GLADLY provide the raw footage to anyone who is willing to do so. The jumping frames are a result of the shitty camera app on my Android phone, nothing more.

  1. I believe this is fake. I saw an example of this earlier in the day but it was McCain instead of Romney. The footage otherwise was the same, including the camera dropping to the right the last few seconds.

So where’s the link of this supposed original video?

It is true from multiple news sources. The machine has since been taken offline. It’s been said to be a touch-screen configuration error. There’s another video from late October showing how messed up the configuration of these machines are and even after they were quickly re-calibrated they ‘broke’ down again fairly quickly.

“Your wife’s new legal name is TARGUS TARGUS.”

  3. These crap pressure based touch screens need frequent re-calibration or errors like this happen. If s/he had pushed Jill Stein it would have checked off Barack Obama.

He tried that and apparently, the calibration was fine for the other candidates.

Is it possible this was faked? Yes. However, as an artist with 4 years experience in CG, I feel fairly confident in saying: not likely. In fact, I’ll go so far as to say VERY not likely.

If it turns out I’m wrong, I’ll spin on a dime and feel really dumb. However, I’ve got to say, if this was faked, it was done by a professional’s professional who had the forethought to consider camera jitter, screen specularity and lighting (both perfectly matched ), and he nailed the tracking of superimposed elements perfectly… perfectly I mean ILM wants this guy on their postwork team.

    Again, not likely.

  5. Nothing about this video surprises me and I’ve been waiting for the Republican party to be disbanded for many years … make it happen.

I for one am not Voting this year because either way I lose and I’m not much for theater anyhow. I have no delusions my 3rd Party Vote counts, it doesn’t and we all god damned well know it. A 2 party system is laughable when 3rd party candidates are arrested for even trying to attend the debates as part of the audience, let alone participate in the debates. Every election year hundreds if not thousands of news sources run articles about disenfranchised voters, partisan voter fraud, thrown out ballots, intimidation of voters and one or the other party doing everything in their power to strong arm rig elections. Republicans have gone so far right they’ve dragged the left to the center leaving more than enough room on the left for a genuine 3rd party.

Hmmm …. maybe they should off-shore voting. It works for everything else Bain Capital invests in ….

I live in PA. The colors and layout in the video are not what the actual on-screen voting interface looks like. My assumption is someone wrote a simple script, displayed it on their home (non-touchscreen) desktop monitor, added a couple stock sound effects, =shot a video of their finger pushing against the monitor and uploaded it to their anonymous YouTube account they just created. It doesn’t take an engineering genius. The super closeup – with no environmental perspective – is the M.O. of the classic UFO hoax video.

Funny business with voting machines? Get the evidence with phone video recorder app and get the word out. “Video or it didn’t happen”

    nice psyop
makes it look like they need to rig the ballot box at the end
rather than the way it is, rigged from the git-go
