Craziest Conspiracy Theories Of The Year

Although billed by PolicyMic as 2012′s top 5 crazy conspiracy theories, I’m not sure it was in this year that most of these “theories” started, or that we won’t be hearing about them again in 2013 (except maybe the Mayan end times meme), but for the record their list is:

  1. Obama cooked the books.
  2. Obama continued to not be born in America.
  3. The Mayan apocalypse brought us to an end.
  4. The UN disarmed America as part of a “new world order.”
  5. The U.S. government re-armed as part of a “new world order.”

            Yes I know. Canadians love being smug about America. It’s as Canadian as Tim Horton’s, awful exports ( e.g. Justin Bieber, Celine Dion, Molson Beer, Trailer Park Boys), and hugging the American border like a child defenseless child.

            On a serious note, the politics aren’t so hippy-dippy, hunky-dory up there. Being distracted by what your neighbor is doing is perfect for allowing something to slide underneath the door. Rob Ford’s corruption is just the tip of the iceberg, you may want to keep your eye on the prize.

            representative political systems, in general are flawed. british republicanism is deeply flawed. probably no less so than american style republicanism.
            we have 3 major cities (5 if i’m being really generous), so naming one scumbag cdn mayor (who you can only name because he made the american news) in the face of literally thousands of american scumbag mayors isn’t exactly a coup de gras.

            and in saying that i’m not defending our system or our mayors, but you do realise for the avg cdn, the lack of public healthcare and the hardcore marketeer/racist/evangelical bullshit that comes out of the mouth of american politicos makes you a laughing stock from st johns to victoria?

            In my travels, I have met Hell’s Angels and Aryans who were less openly racist than you, and they certainly didn’t rationalize it with bull crap intellectual arguments. Also one of the most powerfully kind people I met had black skin. That dude was real, his words were moving, I got where he was coming from. The heart.

            As for what I had to say about the smugness of Canadians. It’s no secret, they love talking crap about America, and Americans. I have spoke with many and listened to what they have to say, many times agreeing with them.

            There is a lot going on up there, and if they are not careful they will have many of the same problems that American’s do. But what do I know? I am not the mighty Jin The Ninja, he who doth protest too much. You just wanted to pick a fight with me, and I chose to be your huckleberry.

            protest against what? oppression? i’m secretly a fascist in anarchist’s/ninja clothing? and while we have plenty of political and environmental problems here, the smugness like i mentioned before comes from the backwardsness of certain social institutions like healthcare, the right wing’s connection to evangelical christianity, as well as, the problematic pedagogy of american public education system. the AVG cdn (notice i said AVG) believes our system, while flawed, is more humane. i (notice i said ‘i’ ) think the comparison while problematic is true to a some extent.

You made a comment about a week back about Arizona, and it appeared to me that you ignored that there is white and christian people who appose the insanity going on there.

            You made a broad sweeping comment that characterized them, and I am pretty sure this is not the first time you have done this.That is how the oppressor speaks, it’s one of the tools they use. They Create a monster and build a scared mass with pitchfork and torch. Also look up she who doth protest too much.

            We are on the same side. What do you mean the avg Canadian sees the American system as more humane? Honest question.
