John Major Jenkins on Mayan Cosmology and 2012

Joe Moore presents episode 40 of the Occult Sentinel Podcast:

This is a recording of a talk that John Major Jenkins gave to Evolver Boulder on December 6th 2012. He discussed the trajectory of his work, his key findings, and how he found them. I personally think his work is pioneering and foundational to Mayan studies.

He is the author of a number of books including:

Maya Cosmogenesis 2012: The True Meaning of the Maya Calendar End-Date
Galactic Alignment: The Transformation of Consciousness According to Mayan, Egyptian, and Vedic Traditions
The 2012 Story: The Myths, Fallacies, and Truth Behind the Most Intriguing Date in History
Pyramid of Fire: The Lost Aztec Codex: Spiritual Ascent at the End of Time

John also helped to translate and edit The Key to the Kalevala by Pekka Ervast.

Can the 2012 businesses survive 2012?

    • JoeMoore

John tells me he plans to take a sabbatical from the subject. I’m sure most others in the business will probably also shift to different areas. Will they be serious subjects, or airy subjects? This depends on the integrity of the people involved. I think that John will end up doing work on some very interesting subjects when he is ready.

I too am counting down the days…. I can’t wait to find out when the next apocalypse is coming…

    • JoeMoore

For the Mayan’s, the calendar was never about a physical catastrophe. John’s work helps to bring light to the subject and shows us that it fits in well with the other perennial philosophies. Dismissing him without any investigation of his work shows a slight lack of care with the intellect.
