Toy Surveillance Glasses For Kids

Play objects often mimic the realities of the adult world. The hot gift for for sale this holiday season is children’s SpyNet Glasses, which allow the child to steathily record video of everyone around them and upload the footage. The line of toys also includes a mock taser:

The SpyNet HQ glasses provide stealthy video recording, disguised as sunglasses! Get all the intel, in plain sight! Records up to 20 minutes of video – upload to your computer and SpyNetHQ.com!

Seems like a natural and organic evolution of the 1980s’ report-your-parents-to-the-cops D.A.R.E. program.

Don’t forget the “rat out you’re friends” aspect. It’s critical to national security after all.

This would be great for recording police.

I don’t know quite when it happened or how
but America is now The Land of the Snitches.
I’m old enough to remember when being a snitch could get you punished
now it’ gets you a job with Uncle Homeland.

    • Simaintongue

      I’m telling you said that.

      • Haha

I’m telling that you told that he said that. Wait until Big Brother gets a hold of that!

      • Nunzio X

        He already knows.

Generally, I agree with you, and it disgusts me, but…

      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stop_Snitchin

Out in Colorado we had civilians getting raped (including male on male) in their own homes and murdered when this campaign was in full-swing.

So, in “the hood” where people probably should do something about some of the shit they see, the do nothing and things continue to get worse. But, yeah, there are parts of this country that are half a step away from Maple St., and that’s fucking terrifying.

      • BuzzCoastin

reporting rapes is a long way from snitching
though it’s unlikely that snitching to the cops will solve the problem
’cause cops don’t really solve or even prevent crimes

the snitching that seems most common in the US now is
a neighbor annoys you & you call the cops in the hopes of some retribution
or a Black man (other than Obama) walks through a neighborhood
        and they call the cops

cops have become ubiquitous in America &
Americans love snitching to their pigs

If you’re looking for cheap consumer Spy Store stuff, go to Meritline http://www.meritline.com – they sell cheap Chinese consumer commodity products, usually quite a bit cheaper than Walmart for the “free shipping” items (everything small). Some product instructions may be in Chinese-only. While I usually buy things like cheap flash card readers there, judging from the online catalog selection, spying on one’s neighbors and business associates must be a favorite hobby in China.

Excellent tip comrade. Indeed, Commissar Zhang thanks you.

Actually, they’re out of Singapore. If you want to shop China, try dx.com … got a very nice Ricoh DSO (digital storage oscilloscope) from them for $350 including shipping.

I guess you guys forgot about Spy Tech, a line of toys for kids from the ’80s.

    • Yohoho

      But this has internets.

  • Liam_McGonagle

Sorry, but I am immediately suspcious of any 10 year old wearing glasses that look like they belong on an 80 year old.

  • Jose

Um. my kid has a really big head, so I hope they make these in our size.
