Cornel West Explains Why It Bothers Him That Obama Will Be Taking The Oath With MLK’s Bible

As neutered as Cornel and other former “radicals” are by the well crafted mind fuckery and enigma that is Barack Obama’s presidential reign, at least he managed enough chutzpa here to challenge the decency of such an obviously contrived appropriation of the King legacy.  It is equally sacrilegious for Obama to swear in on Dr. King’s Bible as it was for Bush to lay a wreath on his grave before his own 2nd term coronation in 2004 in my opinion.

    Obamma Nation
    without question
the most successful psyop ever ever perpetrated
on a racist herd of dimwits
who think 400 years of genocide & racial oppression
can be expiated by a few meaningless concessions to Blacks
while continuing genocide & racial oppression

  2. There were some excellent moments in that hypocritical dickhead’s speech; sadly ruined @ 3:52 : “much as I’m glad that Barack Obama won…”

President is the highest rank in puppetry

  4. I am confused when he says children of all colors, but especially…

Is that an unconditional love psyche out?

Is he talking out of both sides of his mouth?

  5. Obama uses MLK as propaganda to promote himself.

It you watch the churn of power & culture, the genuinely subversive is always sanitized, repackaged, and fed back to the people. MLK is a fine example of that. Sure, he has a day where he’s honored. But his family has basically been on a campaign to monetize him. Schools sanitize what he had to say down to race & civil rights, then depict it as a battle that was won.

A black man sits in the presidential office but has no interest in civil rights, in combating poverty, and in stopping shadow wars in Pakistan, Yemen, Sudan, etc., in stopping the open wars elsewhere. He takes his public oath of office on MLK’s bible, he’s inaugurated on the MLK holiday…I guess that’s the moment you can say MLK is finally, fully defanged.

His whole message about unfettered capitalism and workers rights are completely dismissed. That was the great thing about MLK he was for oppressed everywhere, not just African Americans.
