Man Outsources Own Job to China

Apparently what’s good for the goose is not good for the gander…

From BBC:

US employee ‘outsourced job to China’

A security check on a US company has reportedly revealed one of its staff was outsourcing his work to China.

The software developer, in his 40s, is thought to have spent his workdays surfing the web, watching cat videos on YouTube and browsing Reddit and eBay.

He reportedly paid just a fifth of his six-figure salary to a company based in Shenyang to do his job.

Operator Verizon says the scam came to light after the US firm asked it for an audit, suspecting a security breach.

According to Andrew Valentine, of Verizon, the infrastructure company requested the operator’s risk team last year to investigate some anomalous activity on its virtual private network (VPN) logs.

the story is even better than that
the dude had several high paid US IT jobs
& outsourced them all to Asia
he was only caught because he got lazy
I’ve already seen the fix to the thing that got him caught

And the problem is? The man got the work done, right? Nobody thinks of it as fraud when the employer does the same.

Problem obvious, breach of privacy, security and trust.

Oh, Geezuz Tap-dancing Christ. Verizon, who owns CBS and more, swallowed what used to be MCI/WorldCom and more, has been spying on our phone conversations for the Fed with hardware owned by the Gov., has been outsourcing whatever job it can possibly outsource to the cheapest bidder without a care to how any of this effects the public here in the States, and is in violation of anti-trust laws that have not been enforced since Robert Kennedy was Attorney General has a boo-boo lip over this? Really?

First, they should have not only seen it coming but should have expected it, and they ought to be ashamed of themselves. They should also give this guy a big raise and a better job for showing them up to be the fools they are.

And Buzz, dude should not have become lazy about it, not with that kind of income. Sounds like he should be put in charge of internet security for someone. Hope he put some money offshore. Bet he did.

Notice the BBC reported this and not Verizon owned CBS or one of it’s minions. I call cowardice on that one!
