Pope’s Retirement Linked To The Blackmailing Of A Circle Of Gay Vatican Officials, Reports Italian Press

I’m guessing the Vatican’s secret circle of gay cardinals are also superheroes. The Guardian reports:

A potentially explosive report has linked the resignation of Pope Benedict XVI to the discovery of a network of gay [high-ranking clergy] in the Vatican, some of whom were being blackmailed by outsiders. The pope’s spokesman declined to confirm or deny the report by the Italian daily newspaper La Repubblica.

The paper said the pope had decided on December 17th that he was going to resign – the day he received a dossier compiled on the so-called “Vatileaks” affair. Pope Benedict’s butler, Paolo Gabriele, was arrested and charged with having stolen and leaked papal correspondence.

A quotation said some Vatican officials had been subject to “external influence” from laymen with whom they had links of a “worldly nature” — a reference to blackmail. La Repubblica‘s report was the latest in a string of claims that a gay network exists in the Vatican.

If this is true, then I can;t help but think it is far more sad than ominous.

Are these men really so ashamed of who they are? Is it really so terrible that they feel love and attraction toward other men? These are highly-educated, respected men, many of them accomplished theologians and humanitarians, and yet they are afraid to admit this one ultimately unimportant thing…

The worst part is, they could do so much to change things for the better, for themselves as well as those who will follow, but fear has made them too weak and cowardly to make even the slightest such effort.

I’ve always wondered about a church where there is a statue of a tortured, naked man right up there behind the altar. Think about it: A young man becomes aroused at the sight of this. Perhaps he thinks that this must mean he is attracted to God–and he isn’t interested in women–so he joins the priesthood. Maybe the Church ought to remove the distracting imagery from their houses of worship. I think there is something in the Old Testament about this sort of thing.

What, you mean get rid of the idols?!?!? LOL then what would be placed in the center of the “circle of gay vatican officials”?

The purpose of religion is domination through any means necessary, mostly through control of sexual behavior. While the masses are distracted (and titillated) by sex scandals, the plutocracy robs the treasury. The church is the chief propaganda arm, pouring a layer of morality on such immoral activities as resource theft and worker exploitation. (They always send in the missionaries first.) Not to worry. If you suppress all of your worldly desires (for power, sex, and safety) you’ll be rewarded in heaven. They promise.
