The NRA’s Enemies List

Much to the delight of the liberal media, Wayne LaPierre and his equally juvenile pals at the National Rifle Association have published a list of their enemies. Here’s a link to the very poorly formatted list, and to save you the effort of going through it yourselves, here’s a sampler of some of the organizations they’ve identified:

  • AARP
  • American Medical Association
  • B`nai B`rith
  • National Black Nurses` Association
  • National Association of Secondary School Principals
  • National Spinal Cord Injury Association
  • Southern Christian Leadership Conference
  • YWCA of the U.S.A

and some of the individuals:

  • Maya Angelou – Poet
  • Kevin Bacon – Actor
  • Richard Belzer – Actor
  • Jon Bon Jovi – Singer
  • Christie Brinkley – Model
  • Matt Damon – Actor
  • Geraldo – TV personality
  • Keyshawn Johnson – NFL player

and finally, Ed Koch, RIP.

M’kay, so let me get this straight: they consider old people, doctors, black nurses, Jewish youth, principals, people with spinal cord injuries, Christians and women to be their enemies? In other words, anyone who is part of a minority, is disabled or believes in helping people other than themselves? If the NRA has any hope of seeming credible to anyone, perhaps even within their own organization, they tarnish it with ridiculous, xenophobic, paranoid “witch hunt” lists like this one, especially considering that some of the mentioned subgroups are probably among the membership. So, all I can say is, “What the hell, NRA?!”

  • zombieslapper

So they hate women, blacks, the elderly, “Hollywood liberals” and true Christians… Not surprising.

AARP is a surprise. All the AARP members I know seem like the NRA’s target demographic. I wonder if they just don’t like competing lobbyists?

    • Anarchy Pony

That was my first thought as well.

  • Ted Heistman

What a dumb, self defeating way to look at the world.

Can you read? ” “National Organizations With Anti-Gun Policies” is the title. It is not an enemies list. You’re the idiot who sees hate and enemies everywhere. As for AARP, the powers that be at AARP are consistently at odds with the membership over policy and position. The majority of the AARP demographic voted against obama, not for him. How you get an enemies list out of a list that tells us who has an anti-second amendment stance and then declare it hate is disgusting but typical for the liberal mentality. The NRA is simply pointing out that those organizations have a stated anti-second bias. You are the bozos who see hate in defending the Constitution. All I can say is “What the hell, liberal sheep?”

So do you feel the 14th amendment is just as sacred as the 2nd?

      • Ray Butlers

gun nuts don’t know what the 14th Amendment is. And when they find out, they’ll start talking about “state’s rights” – a matter that was settled with the Civil War.

    • Anarchy Pony

NRA doesn’t give a flying fuck about the second amendment you imbecile. They care only that the firearms industry can continue to milk the lucrative market that is the US population. They don’t care if you can have a gun, they only care that they are allowed to continue selling them to you.

      • mannyfurious

What’s funny is every time I bring this up, the gun-humpers get all up in arms (I always feel the need to qualify my comments, by stating I’m not necessarily in favor of “gun control” but I am in favor of a discussion that at least approaches the ideals of being “coherent” and “intelligible”). Literally, all I ever say is, “Regardless of your position, it’s pretty obvious the gun manufacturers and the NRA love when this issue comes up because they all get rich off of it.” And then I get shit-ton of non-sequiter responses like, “Damn right I bought sum guns and Ill will continues to do so!!!!” or “Teh 2nd amendsment, asshole!!!” or “You can has my gunss when you pry it from my ded hands!!!”

        • Anarchy Pony

I have firearms, I enjoy using them, but I hate the friggin’ NRA. I always say; the NRA is not a citizens’ rights group, it’s just an industry lobby group.

          • Apathesis

Anybody who shows up to a town that has just experienced a child’s death and proclaims “FROM MY COLD, DEAD HANDS!!” is an asshole.

        • Apathesis

The fear mongering is ridiculous. Guns and ammo are out everywhere, and prices have skyrocketed. Gougers and manufacturers are laughing all the way to the bank.

    • Jennifer Mann

And say for instance, Hallmark Cards? Yes, I am sure they’re a huge threat to the 2nd Amendment.

    • “Big” Richard Johnson

      Durrrrr obammer! Obammer kurmernism! durrrrr!

    • f_galton

      Disinformation, get it?

  • Dingbert

I wish there were a pro-gun group for people who are rational, tolerant, and maybe even a little bit progressive that acknowledges the very real difference between being pro-gun control and trying to destroy the Second Amendment, while still disagreeing with both. Too bad.

    • InfvoCuernos

You can say the same thing for the republican party in general.

    • “Big” Richard Johnson

What you’ve described is a moderate.

Unfortunately moderation doesn’t sell advertisements. It’s a problem I often run into when trying to explain where I am politically. I usually just show my Red Army Star tattoo and send them running.

  • “Big” Richard Johnson

Whats their beef with black nurses?

    • Ray Butlers

they’re black. and their nurses (at least half are women too). It’s the Dominator squirming.

    • kowalityjesus

they’ve seen too many inner city gun shot wounds?

When I was in LA at the “Museum of Psychology” (funded by scientologists of course) there was a group of black nurses that came in to do a tour. I guess they are a veritable saturnine demographic.

  • Red_Rabbit

Damn, I’m not on that list. I guess my sharply-worded tweets to them wasn’t enough. I’ll have to try harder.

    • I_abide

You have to send smoke signals to old Wayne. He hasn’t quite caught up with the times yet.

  • travel4nutin

Funny they have some dead people on the list but they didn’t include any people like Hitler, who actually took gun’s away.

  • Audio7

    Enemies list. So 20th century.

  • Audio7

The Hitler thing is more complicated than the NRA wants Americans to think. German gun control laws went into effect in 1919 with the signing of the Versailles Treaty.

    • travel4nutin

One would think they would at least stick to their disinformation. Especially since the scenario of a US dictatorship is one of their main arguments. Castro should be on their list too. They don’t even have any irresponsible gun owners like the guy that shot Regan.

  • Wil Arrington

To be fair, the NRA does not call this an “enemy list”. It simply has a list of those who have donated to causes for greater gun control.

    • Ray Butlers

aka “enemies” of the gun industry. That’s the intention, that’s the message, and that’s how the Gun Nuts are interpreting that information.

  • GTFOBigGovt

I live for enemy lists, said Obama.

  • preciousliberty

You might want to add to the NRA’s enemy list: Communism. A modest knowledge of history shows that those who supported the right to bear arms promoted liberty: Washington, Jefferson, Madison, Hamilton, among countless others. Those opposing the right to bear arms: Hitler, Castro, Stalin, Amin, Lenin, Pol Pot, well, you know what they created.

Maybe the following quotes from history will enlighten some of you as to why the NRA is the NRA ..

“The most foolish mistake we could possibly make would be to permit the conquered Eastern peoples to have arms. History teaches that all conquerors who have allowed their subject races to carry arms have prepared their own downfall by doing so.” Adolph Hitler

“One man with a gun can control one hundred without one.” Vladimir Lenin

“If the opposition disarms, well and good. If it refuses to disarm, we shall disarm it ourselves.” Joseph Stalin

“Both oligarch and tyrant mistrust the people, and therefore deprive them of arms.” Aristotle

“Rifles, muskets, long-bows and hand-grenades are inherently democratic weapons.” George Orwell

“Every Communist must grasp the truth: all political power comes from the barrel of a gun. The communist party must command all the guns, that way, no guns can ever be used to command the party.” — Mao Tze Tung (1938)

“…quemadmodum gladius neminem occidit, occidentis telum est”. [“…a sword never kills anybody; it’s a tool in the killer’s hand.”] (Lucius Annaeus) Seneca “the Younger” (ca. 4 BC-65 AD)

“Among the many misdeeds of British rule in India, history will look upon the Act depriving a whole nation of arms as the blackest.” Mohandas Gandhi

“To disarm the people…was the best and most effectual way to enslave them.” George Mason, 1788

“If someone has a gun and is trying to kill you, it would be reasonable to shoot back with your own gun.” Dalai Lama

Douche bag gun control supporters. You trust weapons in the hands of govt which shows your complete idiocy. Better we have the right to bear arms as the govt is certainly not trustworthy with them. Not saying most people are trustworthy but one of the few good rights we have left in this country is the right to bear arms. Unfortunately this right has been greatly infringed in the most Orwellian of ways.

Worthless liberals who support this crap are just as dangerous as conservatives. You fucksticks want the govt to have more and more power giving regular people less and less of a chance to defend themselves.
