DNA Testing Reveals Six-Inch “Alien Ata” Skeleton To Be Human

alien ataThe tiny being found in the desert turns out to be human, but is still quite puzzling. Via the Huffington Post:

The mummified remains of what looks like a 6-inch space alien has turned “Sirius” into the most eagerly awaited documentary among UFO enthusiasts. The findings, however, might come as a disappointment.

Filmmakers claimed the documentary would reveal that the DNA of the creature with an oversized alien-looking head couldn’t be medically classified. In fact, the film, which premiered Monday, features a scientist who concluded the little humanoid was human.

“I can say with absolute certainty that it is not a monkey. It lived to the age of six to eight. It calls into question how big the thing might have been when it was born,”said Garry Nolan, director of stem cell biology at Stanford University’s School of Medicine in California.

The remains of the small humanoid, nicknamed Ata, were discovered in Chile’s Atacama Desert 10 years ago.

Is not a monkey does not mean is a human form Earth. What if extraterrestials are closer related to us then closest earthling relatives?

      no

This is far more interesting with a result of Human, frankly. I mean, a six inch tall person who was six to eight years old, had ten ribs, and a really strange head? Also, there were no genetic markers for any genetic diseases which would cause any of these sorts of abnormalities. The smallest person ever recorded was 22 inchs tall, more than four times this things height. Not to mention that the region it was discovered in apparently has a rich folklore of little humaniods. Is this a fucking fairy that was just found???? In any event, it is beyond fascinating, and thankfully the researchers aren’t done. They are so intrigued they are continuing their research and are going to publish it in an peer reviewed journal.

      My thoughts exactly.
A 6 inch human, never mind all the other wierd fetures, that lived to be 6 to 8 years-old is pretty fucking mind blowing, to me anyway.

      • Lady of the Snows

At whatever Ata’s birth weight was, she could not have breast fed.

  • Mark Stevens

    It’s a malformed fetus.

    • Jordon Flato

Bone growth shows completely otherwise. But we’ll get more confirmation of that with further research.

      • Lady of the Snows

Ata looks like a concealed miscarriage,, maybe one with abnormal bone growth.

maybe its like a shrunken head or something except they shrunk the whole body. maybe it was bigger originally.

    • Jordon Flato

Shrunken heads only work when you remove bone. There is no way to shrink bone.

        …except for the secret way…

        • Jordon Flato

Shhhhhh. Don’t talk about that. Even here. ESPECIALLY here.

  • http://twitter.com/TedHeistman Ted Heistman

Its an alien because Human beings are aliens.

maybe a 6-8 year mutant pregnancy???

  • kowalityjesus

    “A” scientist? i want a second opinion.

    • Jordon Flato

We’re going to get one apparently. This was done by a team at Stanford by the way, not some random mail-order-scientist. The one who claimed six to eight years old is a leader in the field of childhood pathology. Doesn’t make them infallible, but it does lend a good deal of weight to their analysis.

As additional follow up, here is info about the guy who made the six to eight year old proclamation: Dr. Ralph Lachman, Co-Founder and Co-Director of the International Skeletal Dysplasia Registry at Cedars-Sinai. He is also the author of the textbook, Radiology Of Syndromes, Metabolic Disorders And Skeletal Dysplasias, a book referenced by students and practitioners. Skeletal dysplasia is a condition that can cause abnormal bone development, including variations in size and shape.

And: “I have examined in the course of my career many skeletal and other pediatric bone anomalies and dysmorphias. This specimen does not fall under any known, to me, class of disorders or syndromes… there is no known form of dwarfism that accounts for the anomalies seen in this specimen. Most interestingly, based on knee epiphyseal standards, the specimen appears to be 6-8 years old. While there remains a possibility this latter result is due to some form of unknown progeria (rapid aging syndrome), in my opinion this is a low probability.”

Did anyone actually see the documentary? I don’t think the reporters at the Huffing and Puffing Post did.
What the examiner said was that the body shares the same dna as humans. So does every primate on the planet. What he couldn’t explain were all the vast sequence differences (in the order of millions) that could either be ‘junk’ dna or something else entirely that the software he was using isn’t designed to extrapolate. Far difference from “the fetus is human”. He also said that he wanted to say more (as in “give his opinion”) but that he was deliberately holding back so as to not open himself up to ridicule. Very wise fella there.
Not saying it’s an alien, but it has 10 ribs (no known mutation causing that), and no human that small has ever lived that long that we know of.
    In any case, definitely fascinating.

    • Hoarfraust

Chris MacDonald is spot on. I love how the few major media outlets willing to cover this story wrongfully jumped to the “It’s human!” conclusion.

  • BuzzCoastin

so far modern humans have identified 4 different humanoid species
    modern human, Neanderthal, Cro-Magnon, Denisovans
there is plenty of evidence that were many more
this being just one of thousands of such anomalies

It should be noted that Neanderthals are 99.5% genetically identical to humans,
and chimps and apes are 96-97% identical.

  • Lady of the Snows

Incidentally I was informed that Ata is haplogroup B, normal for indigenous Americans. Ata was also a girl.

  • Hoarfraust

It’s premature to say “it’s human”. It’s DNA is a 99 percent match for a human and it is not simian. Chimpanzees have 98% similar DNA. So it is closer to us than a chimp. But there was 20% extra DNA which is not a match for human DNA. It doesn’t appear to be junk DNA, but further testing is required. It is also noted that it does not exhibit any known genetic mutations which account for it’s size were it to be human. Very fascinating case!
