How Should We React To A Terrorist Attack?

terrorist attackParadoxically, in a sense, by doing nothing, says security theorizer Bruce Schneier, speaking to the Washington Post:

What should policymakers do in the aftermath of this kind of event? Nothing. This is a singular event, and not something that should drive policy. Unfortunately, you can’t prevent this sort of thing 100 percent.

By definition, news is something that almost never happens. The brain fools you into thinking the news is what’s important. So what should we be afraid of? Car crashes. Global warming. It feels insensitive to say it so close to the tragedy, but it’s true. Things so common that they’re no longer news — that’s what kills people.

The damage from terrorism is primarily emotional. To the extent this terrorist attack succeeds has very little do with the attack itself. Imagine if the bombs were found and moved at the last second, and no one died, but everyone was just as scared. The terrorists would have succeeded anyway.

I’m old fashioned…..I would go on Coast to Coast A.M. with Art Bell

        • Well of course you would make the circuit. Letterman, Leno, gotta get the book sales up so there is a demand for a sequel. Anything to lose the job and keep writing.

terrorism is an excellent mirror, it will show you how weak or strong you really are.

… A False Flag was run during a bomb drill in Boston. Craft international
was live on the scene along with the Boston bomb squad at the Marathon,
they are pictured with the black backpacks in the evidence photos. You
will see pictures of the patsies at Infowarsdotcom . . . sorry for the
    quick crude message.

  5. “All that we have to do is to send two mujahedeen to the furthest point east to raise a piece of cloth on which is written al Qaeda, in order to make generals race there to cause America to suffer human, economic and political losses without their achieving anything of note other than some benefits for their private corporations.” -Osama bin Laden

David Kilcullen called terrorism “auto-immune warfare.” It’s the best definition I’ve heard.

Yup. The purpose of terrorism is not to destroy the enemy, but to trick the enemy into destroying itself. Bin Laden played us like a piano.
