The near unanimous approval by Bostonians for having an Army- city cops, state cops, transit cops, FBI, U.S. reserves and ICE, by last count- invade the city and enact martial law, in pursuit of one criminal, whom they finally Did Not Find -(remember, everyone? no?…no?….) is bloody terrifying. Having the entire city shut down scared me a lot more than a not-so-smart mad bomber on the loose.

I’m about to make myself wildly unpopular,(except on this site! Ha!) so here goes, a Bostonian who Hasn’t Vented Yet. Apparently many dumbfu** Bostonians prefer Domestic Invasion and Citywide Martial Law to having one not-so-smart mad bomber running around. I mean, guys, if you’re gonna call in transit cops, city cops, state cops, FBI, ATF, and the whole crowd the least you could do is CATCH THE GUY. -sigh-

These people have been very well trained. No complaints, nothing but praise. None of the police’s actions were compared with similar successful overseas security operations, also no comparisons to other countries that have had martial law imposed.

I’m by no means saying they’re not well trained- but THOUSANDS of SWAT troops to do the job that about a dozen boston cops could’ve done more quickly quietly and effectively seems to me like overkill. Blackhawk Helicopters? holy bejeezis, is he Godzilla?

      • maybe the gun cultists preparing their armed insurrection might take note.

They might- or it could just give them more ammo (get it?) for justifying their paranoia and batshit religious reactionary ideologies and homicidal tendencies which we all know is just going to improve morale for everyone else and make the discussion a little more reasonable. If the ENTIRE CITY IS SHUT DOWN(APOLOGIES FOR THE ALL CAPS) the terrorists have won, I say.

He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth:
he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb,
so he opened not his mouth. Isaiah 53:7

I’m not Bostonian but worked and lived in Boston during the marathon. Friends were injured on the day and I worked 20ft from where the second bomb went off.

The bombers had planned to set off further devices in Time Square that would have had devastating results.

By implementing martial law they were caught quickly and further lives were spared, end of.
