Dairy Associations Lobby The FDA To Alter The Definition Of “Milk” To Include Aspartame

definition of "milk"It’s not quite as bad as some have reported – cancer-causing artificial sweetening additives such as as aspartame likely would still need to be listed in tiny letters as ingredients. But the milk could otherwise be packaged, marketed, and sold as just “milk.” The stated goal is to reverse the trend of lagging dairy consumption by children, particularly in school. From the U.S. government’s Federal Register:

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is announcing that the International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA) and the National Milk Producers Federation (NMPF) have filed a petition requesting that the Agency amend the standard of identity for milk and 17 other dairy products to provide for the use of any safe and suitable sweetener as an optional ingredient.

IDFA and NMPF request their proposed amendments to the milk standard of identity to allow optional characterizing flavoring ingredients used in milk to be sweetened with any safe and suitable sweetener—including non-nutritive sweeteners such as aspartame. IDFA and NMPF state that lower-calorie flavored milk would particularly benefit school children who, according to IDFA and NMPF, are more inclined to drink flavored milk than unflavored milk at school.

Imposed incestuous cannibalistic systems are creating their own self-destruction.

For a chemocratic corporatocracy to maintain control of an awakening planetary civilization within the scale of a cosmological construct requires everything everywhere within the system framework be chemically altered, genetically modified, processed, synthesized and commoditized to promote and push specific system agenda factors and contain human awareness of the system they serve.

It will be its own demise.

May I have permission to use that in some guerrilla post-sarcasm marketing?

one of the techniques of brainwashing is to totally isolate the individual from the outside world. when they have engineered our outside world entirely, it may become very difficult to find a true reference point.

  • winstonsmith

why the fuck do they need to flavor milk? This is madness!

    • CosmicAmazing

      Madness…… This! Is! Merika!

  • Anarchy Pony

I wasn’t aware that cows produced aspartame. Science!

    • CosmicAmazing

I got a good laugh from that. TY!

‘While the masses are preoccupied’ snarky comments and cynicism aside, I find it harder to dismiss the egregious day after day dismantling of an individuals ability to be in control of their own health and well being. And this is not a false outrage ‘obamacare’ swallowed and vomited talking point.

I hang my head in sorrow that in America our right to bear arms against physical
aggression by the government is overwhelmingly more focused on than the
surreptitious chemical and biological aggression on our health by the
    for profit corporations.

When it comes to milk (and other foods, and medicinal treatments, etc.), beyond just being informed of whats being foisted upon us, we’ve been prevented by law to even access alternatives. Natural alternatives.

The argument that adding unhealthy additives to something in an attempt to make people healthy is so preposterous that it could be a comedy sketch… but they can already do that. But they want to change the legal definition to include it so people won’t be aware it’s unhealthy. That’s the level of fukk you they have for you and your kids.

    • Andrew

      You mean “Obamneycare.”

Ugh…any idiot can f*ck something up…but only a corporation can devote hundreds of millions in research, lobbying, marketing and production just to take something that already fine the way it was and transform it into unusable toxic garbage.

Obviously a plan to kill children w/ PKU.

    > IDFA and NMPF state that lower-calorie flavored

it more likely benefits the money grubbing leeches
    who proposed this idea
and those who are paid to whore for it
    but nonetheless
90% of Merkins will turn a blind eye to this
as they have been doing for a century now

Not trivial at all. Spider silk is a naturally produced gene encoded protein; as such it may be utilized in transgenesis.

Aspartame is an artificially synthesized chemical. No organism on earth produces it. Even in the organic thermolysin catalyzed reaction you need methylated amino acids that are not produced endogenously. You would need to engineer the biochemical machinery from the ground up. Using the naturally occurring enzyme would also be problematic in that it would have other significant effects in situ. The whole process would have to be engineered to occur within some organelle/vesicle.

If I am off on the endogenous Phe/Asp methylation, I’d love to see a source.

  • Calypso_1

Yes, exactly what I said and it does not occur as a reaction in biological organisms.

    Weak sauce, dude.

  • Calypso_1

I think you will note in my first comment that I referenced the bacterial metabolism.

The enzyme does in fact breakdown both phe/asp (among others). But as I said, though fundamentally these are the precursors necessary for aspartame, there are additional steps.

Please find me an organism that naturally produces or one that has been engineered to produced N-Acetyl-L-aspartic anhydride and I will appreciate the introduction to a new depth of understanding.

  • Calypso_1

Wrong chemical oh cut n pasty.

  • Calypso_1

Yes the human body also produces a close homolog of propane but I won’t be setting up the BBQ.

  • Calypso_1

I didn’t say aspartame either. I said wrong chemical. the chem you need is N-Acetyl-L-aspartic anhydride, which I clearly stated.

  • Calypso_1

The enzymatic reaction is not speculative. It is, as you stated routinely used in bacterial metabolism to digest resistant proteins via cleavage at the N-terminal.

The anhydride is necessary and is used in the culture for bacterial synthesis of aspartame.

  • Calypso_1

Do you realize how easy it is to get you to descend into juvenile references?

  • Calypso_1

If that is not the chemical how are you going to protect the side chain?

    Watch your tone.

I’m going to share this one at work.
