Sheeple: The Least Creative Put-Down of Our Time.

Disinfonauts! I offer up to you my latest short addressing the one of the most grating words in common use. From bottom of the barrel arguments about religion and politics, to discussions about war and drug use, it’s a catch-all term just about anybody can use to bolster their argument! Sheeple!!!

  • Juan

Dude makes some excellent points. It gets difficult to not be angry at our current situation, and it is very easy to vent on those who either do not see it, or are total collaborators. What has helped temper my scorn and derision is to try and keep in mind that we are ALL the victims/targets of the most sophisticated propaganda machine this planet has ever seen. It is extremely effective and most people are blind to it.
I use terms exactly like “sheeple.” But, I prefer mouth-breather or knuckle-dragger; there are so many . . . While I do not use them to attack, belittle or discredit anyone directly, I do use them to refer the teeming, mainstream, Walmart hordes.
Come to think of it, what is the proper, less offensive term to use instead of Sheeple and its many synonyms? “Mainstream American” perhaps?

    • http://hormeticminds.blogspot.com/ Chaorder Gradient

I think they might prefer to be called “normies” .. no probably not…

    • kowalityjesus

      the acquiescent majority, perhaps

  • DeepCough

“Sheeple” is such a mainstream term.

    • Simon Valentine

you’ve got a cousin named Throat played in movies, right?

      • DeepCough

No, that asshole totally ripped off my name!

  • http://hormeticminds.blogspot.com/ Chaorder Gradient

I feel the same way when i hear someone call another Noob

    • Simon Valentine

      Muggle?

      • Gabriel D. Roberts

        Haha! YES!

    • Ittabena

Well, unless you are on World Of Tanks, lol. Sometimes it is the only word that fits.

      • http://www.ContraControl.com/ Zenc

So that’s you, always calling me Noob when I rush the field on Malinovka?

        • Ittabena

Lol! No, that’s me in the Pz II saying; New guys stay off the field. I usually save Noob for the guys that pose for the other team’s arty.

What’s your highest Tier, and are you on WoWP too?

          Major_1012

          • http://www.ContraControl.com/ Zenc

            My highest Tier is VII.

I’m not on WOWP. I only picked up WOT a few months ago because the games are conveniently limited to 15 mins where Eve might require 15 hours…

I started out with light tanks, but I’m far, far too aggressive to do well in them. I tend to want to stop and slug it out with everyone I meet.

            Terrible Idea.

            Zenc

          • Ittabena

I added you as a friend. Will hit you up to platoon next time I see you on.

I kinda do the same thing. In a clan now that is teaching me to chilax.

    • kowalityjesus

“Troll” I have found is often used in an inaccurate, ignorant, and acrid manner to anyone who doesn’t agree with you or who is provoking anger in a critical manner.

      • http://hormeticminds.blogspot.com/ Chaorder Gradient

i agree with you there, Troll has a pretty specific definition and motivation of simply messing with people.

Nice “Thought-terminating cliches” tag! And excellent video. Stereotyping epithets have a subconscious effect on those thus labeled, causing them to become more and more convinced that’s what they really are and to act like it. So when you call someone “stupid,” “idiot,” “sheeple,” etc. you’re actually participating in a psy-op for the benefit of the elites.

    • Simon Valentine

there wunts wus a story of a spealling
that sphealled all the words in annealing
that macaroni not always had cheese
that sportsmen were gladiators with fabreeze
that idiot was spelled not as
an i for an i or spaz
that stupid is and stupid does
is something to look forward to helping grow

      sheeps herd because…?

  • BuzzCoastin

wee all be sheeple to some extent
can’t be avoided, it’s an effect of the times
    but
the people who mindlessly follow the new whirled order
need a wake-up call of some kind
and it’s an appropriate word in many shocking situations
    e.g:
get paid money to let them poison the water: sheeple
my kuntery right or wrong: sheeple
wonder why lots of Arabs hate America’s “help”: sheeple
think that they are being made safe with Gestapo tactics: sheeple

unfortunately, most sheeple don’t think of themselves as sheeple
and the word is lost on them

    • David Duke-Astin

most sheeple think every day is Opposite Day

  • InfvoCuernos

sheeple is right up there with “Koolade drinker”. Its impossible to lay out blanket names like this without somebody somewhere getting offended, and the crazy part is: most all of us can be included in these groups in one way or another. I have exerted a great amount of effort in fighting the system, but I’m sure there are still facets of my life that force me into one of these groups. Maybe we should all practice a little more empathy for our fellow humans and cut back on name calling. In the end, aren’t we all just serfs doing the bidding of our lords? We can fight it, overthrow it, burn a bunch of shit and hit the reset button, but all that does is establish new lords and serfs.

    • mannyfurious

Damn, that was a pretty reasonable and self-aware post. I agree wholeheartedly.

      • InfvoCuernos

Hey! Who downvoted my internet ass-pat?!?!? Damn hoolagins can’t let me have anything! Thanks Manny.

  • Simon Valentine

the fact that a word is a curse
the fact that a fact that is worse
    is not bothered or stirred
    like a bear
instead you picked on her cub
    beware.
    bear zerkers
    beware
    Einstein
    Newton
    illusion
    Beware
    the Njords called to Winterhold
    beware
squared of the round table of light of gravity
    beware

that fact that the people in entirely are not happy and well enough to stave off curse words.

    beware.

    • Ittabena

Bizarre, I just watched the Njord episode of Monty Python this morning.

  • echar

    “Semantic showboating” Well said!

Calling another sheeple may be like setting yourself up to be rigid and bowled over by mystery. It may be best to keep from being a cosmic jerk.

    • Simon Valentine

      reminds me

what do black sheep have to say about all this?

      or black sheep ram goats

      • echar

        Good question!

      • Andrew

        Rameople? Goateople?

  • http://twitter.com/TedHeistman Ted Heistman
  • Ittabena

From what I can tell it is a phrase that was made popular by the late William Cooper. I quit using it when everyone else started to. It was then that I noticed how pompous it sounded from overuse and decided that I didn’t want to sound that way.

  • InfvoCuernos

She’s a serf and so are you, you freaking robot!

  • Robert Lai

People fighting the system are just as defined by it as people who whole-heartedly support it. So it makes sense they’d use the same kind of language the pundits they hate. People with Causes are People with Causes. I’ve been coming around to the idea lately that the content of people’s beliefs makes no difference in how they act, just who they point those actions at. As always: I could be wrong.

  • luther_blissett5

Sheeple is often a verbal counterattack from those labelled “conspiracy theorist”, a label that is maddening because while technically it may be correct, it has become a loaded word full of doctrinal meanings. So what is the opposite of conspiracy theorist? Sheeple may apply but is an insult to sheep. I prefer “coincidence theorist”.

  • Deteis

If it weren’t for all these sheeple calling other sheeple sheeple then this wouldn’t be a problem. Damn sheeple.
