Glenn Greenwald Challenges The Media’s NSA Leaks Talking Points On MSNBC

In the days since publishing bombshell articles revealing the NSA’s secret spying on all Americans’ phone calls, chats, and emails, Glenn Greenwald has been appearing on mainstream U.S. media outlets to challenge the notion that the his scoop is traitorous or a threat to national security: “Yeah, I’ll put it into context for you. The White House talking points that you’re using are completely misleading and false.”

One thing has been emphasized clearly in this video. Those reporters are on a leash.

Seems a good dance downplaying that the public should be concerned about this at all and then trumping up the severity of Snowden’s leak to make him the ultimate villain.

How can anyone say that this is what the people want if the people don’t know about it?

How arrogantly Richard Haass brushes away any question of wrong doing or abuse by saying it’s just policy. Of course a secret policy that they’ve went through lengths to make sure was kept a secret, mind you.

Doing “if you´re doing nothing wrong” argument, super stupid. How about a peeping tom watching you shower? Or someone lying under your bed, listening to every conversation you have? Still ok? And that´s not even touching on the Orwellian abuses that have happened and will continue to get far worse if these things are allowed to continue.

And the “trump card” being a terrorist attack? Terrorist attacks happen at about the same rate as shark attacks — and this is supposed to justify the eroding of our liberties to the point of non-existence? Also a bunch of BS.

around 16:12 when greenwald was defending bradley manning, i heard one of the hosts just groan. Then they said goodbye to greenwald.

These two assholes obviously believe their own press. I wonder if they would feel differently if their information got leaked to the public? I haven’t seen such clear instance of blatant propaganda maneuvering since Gobbles. There should be list for after the revolution and these two should be on it.

The amount of propoganda in the US news is getting ridiculous. Ive never seen it so blatant, shits getting weird…

I think I like Joe Scarborough. He’s the only one who stood up to the blonde coward next to him and that mouthpiece for Obama.

@6:00 the talking head wants to know WTF was so stunning about the revelations
    that was pretty stunning
    well, not really stunning
    more like typical

i couldn’t get through it … that woman is either mentally challenged, or a stooge. I’d prefer challenged as that would mean she had no choice in it. When that woman asks if any law has been broken, I wonder if she’s insane to boot – has she never heard of the 4th amendment? Or, is the new trope “laws are better than amendments”?

“Those reporters are on a leash”
“These two assholes obviously believe their own press”
    “blonde bozo”
    “blonde coward”
“that woman is either mentally challenged, or a stooge”

Presumably nobody will be surprised to know that Mika Brezinski, yes that Brezinski is the daughter of Z-big, Zibigniew Brezinski. Once referred to as, “Obama’s Brain”. Carter’s Nat’l Security Advisor. One of the brain trusts of arming the Mujahadeen against the Soviets. The neo-liberal Henry Kissinger. All-around quality human being.

‘Her position’ on the issue, should come as no surprise.

Aside from that, watching that whole thing made me throw up in my mouth…a lot.
