Relatives Of Michael Hastings Hire Private Investigator After His Remains Were Cremated Without Permission

Further fuel for conspiracy theories? San Diego 6 News reports that the body of journalist Michael Hastings, who died last month in a fiery car crash in Los Angeles, was cremated against his family’s wishes, destroying any evidence (of sobriety, of drug or alcohol use, or otherwise) in his body at the time of death, as the circumstances of the accident that killed him remain unclear:

Oh, there’s definitely no conspiracy here. Nope, not with this case. Nothing at all suspicious about this.

If the U.S. Secret Agents murder you to protect their secrets, then that’s all legal. Just ask any Supreme Court Justice. Because that’s how the law works.

I sincerely doubt there is anything to this. Why should the NSA/CIA/FBI or whoever bother? They could post a video of Holder and Obama gangbanging America’s grandmothers on Youtube, with a local bank sign flashing the date and time through the open living room window to authenticate it, and STILL nobody would give a sh*t.

Nobody works harder to supress the truth than the average US citizen.

I’m sure Hastings’ foot just slipped as he reached on the car floor to pick up a coin he’d dropped. Happens ALL.THE.TIME.

Either that or Stanley McChrystal REALLY knows how to hold on to a grudge.

      • DrDavidKelly | Jul 17, 2013 at 10:07 pm |

What was the story he was working on? That and McChrystal’s revenge scenario are the only motives I can think of. No chance of an autopsy sure is a neato move though … if there are dark forces at play here they’re playing it very well. No truth finding will come of this.

I think someone close to him said it was about Petraeus sex-scandal type shit, but who really knows?

He embarrassed the head brass of the U.S. counterinsurgency black ops crews, AKA the elite of American death squads.

Taking out some pain in the ass freelance journalist is pretty vanilla compared to the shit they do.

Yeah the more I think about it the more I ‘feel’ like Stanley did it. I got nothing to back that up of course and neither will anyone else – ever. But I can just see the fuming face of the big man warlord punching the bag in his private gym screaming to no one “I’M GONNA KILL THAT LITTLE CIVILIAN [insert military style profanity]”. A quite word in a special friend’s ear at the gentlemans club and it was taken care of.

    • Exactly!

I hope you drive a Mercedes and have dirt on government officials.

List of suspicious circumstances so far, via Reddit user u/Three_Letter_Agency:

Wikileaks revealed that their lawyer, Jennifer Robinson, was contacted by Hastings just hours before his death claiming that he was being investigated by the FBI.

Hastings sent an email to colleagues hours before his death stating: re:NSA… I’m onto a big story and need to go off the radar for a bit.

One eyewitness described the crash as such: “The car was bouncing, flames and sparks near the gas tank. When he hit the palm tree that’s when the flames were higher. There were explosions and everything… No one could approach the car because it kept exploding.”

Police, firefighters and EMS have been told not to comment on the investigation

Another witness described the scene: “It sounded like a bomb went off.” “My house shook, the windows were rattling.”

LAPD will not release a police report, after repeated FOIA requests

Former marine friend told media that Hastings was threatened: “We will hunt you down and kill you” for McChrystal reporting

Hastings was driving a new Mercedes C-250, a car not prone to bursting into flames, especially sustaining heat that the crash did, as per military official.

Hastings had worked on numerous articles critical of the establishment, including: The Rise of the Killer Drones: How America Goes to War in Secret, Julian Assange: The Rolling Stone Interview, Another Runaway General: Army Deploys Psy-Ops on U.S. Senators, America’s Last Prisoner of War.

One of Hastings articles had resulted in the forced resignation of General McChrystal.

The Mercedes’ drive train was about 50-60 yards away from the crash site.

Hastings had said in a 2012 Reddit AMA that he received numerous death threats.

When he died, Hastings was working on a story probing the CIA and current director Brennan.

    No brake/skid marks

Hastings was cremated, even though his family requested otherwise.

The Strange Death of Michael Hastings

Michael Hastings, the former Rolling Stone journalist, died recently in a tragic auto accident. When I first heard of it, I thought how sad,
especially given the positive arc of Mr. Hastings’ reporting career: he was the reporter credited, or blamed, for the firing of Gen. McChrystal due to his enlightening article on the Special Forces’ general and his tenure in Afghanistan.

Then anomalies began surfacing about his early morning auto
accident: the lack of forensic investigation, the fact that Michael had mentioned to people over the preceding month that he was being followed, possibly by government agents, culminating with the cremation of his remains against family wishes (complete destruction of forensic evidence) suggested his death might be other than an accident?

At the time Mr. Hastings was working on the Benghazi story,
the violent deaths of the American diplomat and his bodyguards in Libya, what
appeared to be a horrendous screw up, assuming all the facts were in?

Whether it was the downfall of Gen. McChrystal, or uncovered
facts in Benghazi, there exists some justification for a revenge death. Certainly Gen. McChrystal, with his career in Special Forces, has many contacts. Since
McChrystal’s new position at Yale University’s Jackson Institute brings him in
contact with his old buddy, “death squad” John Negroponte, a man who
certainly enjoys a number of contacts in the realm of shadow ops, the potential
is enormous, and when has an assassination occurred somewhere when Negroponte wasn’t in the vicinity?

This disheartening death of Michael Hasting brings to mind
the novel written under a pseudonym (Tom Cain) by a British journalist titled,
    The Accident Man.

This also brings to mind several (at least three) bizarre
deaths in the 1990s, when men in technical/cryptological professions, connected
with the intelligence community, were killed in the early morning hours on
major multi-lane highways, running about nkaed and in a delirious condition!

Accidents happen, but murder by design is no accident.

Some interesting interviews with Mr. Hastings:

    • Are we so sure someone tried to knock him out? Or could it be that “going dark” meant that he himself was faking his own death so that no one would have a trace of him?

  7. this is something like building seven and benghazi .

  8. Does anyone know Hasting’s whereabouts the hours leading up to the crash? Hasn’t even been hinted at or inquired about in any article that I’ve read. Was he last seen at home? A bar? Seedy motel room? Buying a frozen pizza at Walgreens? Who was the last person to see him alive? What the fuck? From all these accounts, he just magically appeared blazing down the street at 4am and barreled into a tree. I’m astonished by the lack of even a minimum amount of curiosity and investigation on the matter.

Our government is so !@#$%^&*ing corrupt, honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if they DID play a hand in Hastings’ death. I’m not usually one to indulge conspiracy theories but this almost isn’t even a theory at this point, it’s starting to look like a damn given. There are just too many coincidences and strange circumstances surrounding this case. There comes a point when even the most stalwart skeptic has to admit that something smells seriously fishy.

I’ve had my nose to the ground on this since Hasting’s ‘accident,’ b/c he was one of the good guys. The article linked here comes the closest to possibly explaining things; it was one of the issues he was investigating and their is no doubt these nefarious characters would have had the means > Black Hat vs. White Hat – Snowden, Hastings & Barret Brown.

  11. I’m mostly surprised by the self restraint shown in his living this long. When you tweak the noses of people like those…it’s astonishing to last years or even months. Perhaps the powers that be are getting ever so slightly more subtle…given the long track record for generating inconvenient corpses that leave hundreds of pages of difficult questions.
