Alabama Police Officer Fired After Recording Superior Issuing Command to Meet Ticket Quotas

I know that this will come as a great surprise to all of you, but apparently there’s a chance that your local police department may actually have a ticket quota.

I don’t know why they even try to deny it. In a bureaucracy like ours, the only way they can quantify performance is by counting citations-of course, we could just record all of their actions in the field, similar to what they do with the Army and their helmet cams, but I think we all know why they don’t want to do that. Way easier just to have a ticket quota than to insure cops aren’t being total crooked assholes.

By and large i think its just about money, not about “quantifying performance”..

There is also already cameras on the patrol cars. But they should make the videos public.

Quotas lead to impatience, which leads to police brutality. It is really knee jerk stupid thinking.
By establishing a quota you are limiting the time any officer can spend writing a ticket. This places pressure on the officer to accelerate the process, so when the citizen delays the process in any way, the officer reacts more and more forcefully to accelerate it.
So moronic thinking of gaining extra income by forcing officers to write more tickets straight up leads to million dollar payouts from violent attempts to accelerate the ticket writing process.
It is all about right wing idiots being in charge well beyond their level of competence reaching for easy knee jerk reactionary decision and then blaming everyone else for the failures.

I’m sure that the steroid use doesn’t help that violent knee-jerking.

I don’t piss of cops.I piss on cops.

  • BuzzCoastin

    shocking!
    next they’ll have a recording
urging they meet the dark-skinned arrests quota

    but hey
the good news he only got fired
    and not 35 years

Anybody see the pics of the cops during that Georgia incident earlier this week? They looked like they were about to engage the fucking Covenant.

  • denverover

This proves there are completely innocent people being charged with breaking the law, and in charging the innocent person the police writing the ticket is committing a federal felony (Violation of USC title 18 Section 1001 Material misrepresentations to the federal government) Read the law and you will understand why the cop is guilty of a felony. The citizen need only report the incident to a federal prosecutor, or the FBI.

    • DeepCough

I have to say “good luck” with that, because federal prosecutors and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are in the exact same line of business.

      • denverover

I didn’t say they would proceed with prosecution, I said report it to the federal prosecutor, and it then becomes a felony under USC Title 18. Trying to prosecute a cop is like pissing into the wind of a hurricane, all that happens is you get pissed on(unless your bank account has 7 figures).

        • DeepCough

The citizen need only report the incident to a federal prosecutor, or the FBI.

This sentence sends a mixed message.

    • Juan

That’s a hoot. I’m sure they’ll be all over that.
Dude, you try and report that shit if you ain’t white and see what happens to you. At best you’ll get ignored, mocked, at worst you get your ass beat and thrown in jail for whatever bullshit charges the fucking piggies can come up with.

  • Wheel

It’s about the money. The last ticket I got was a seatbelt violation, and it cost 164$ including court costs. It’s about the money.

In this country everyone likes to believe in heroes. That’s all we talk about. Kobe Bryant’s a fucking “hero” because he’ll murder an entire orphanage just to win a basketball game.

But on the off chance one of these fuckers actually come along, we throw them in jail or get them fired and force them to flee the country if not outright assassinate them in public.
