First Cases Of Flesh-Eating Homemade Drug Krokodil Reported In United States

krokodilThis is when America starts to resemble a zombie movie. CBS News on the super-potent, cheap heroin substitute made from codeine, gasoline, and paint thinner that causes tissue necrosis:

A poison control center in Phoenix, Ariz. is reporting that it has received calls regarding what is believed to the first two cases of krokodil use in the U.S. About 1 million people in Russia use krokodil, and the drug has been found in other European countries as well.

Eight to 10 times more potent than morphine, a homemade version of krokodil is easily made using codeine, iodine, gasoline, paint thinner, hydrochloric acid, lighter fluid and red phosphorus.

The drug got its nickname because users tend to develop scale-like, green skin. Skin can fall off following use, resulting in exposed bones. The drug also causes blood vessels to rupture and death of the surrounding tissue. The average user does not live longer than two to three years.

As someone pointed out recently, krokodil and meth would be nowhere if poppy-derived heroin and other naturally derived drugs were allowed to reach legal market value. They really would be cheap…but then we would experience copious inflation because how else is the fed going to make back all that paper money?

    • Charlie Primero

Agreed. Heck, if they just let people grow poppies for tea billions would be saved. But they don’t want that. Millions of lawyers, cops, prison guards, judges, and bail bondsmen depend on the drug racket.

VICE did a good documentary on Krokodil last year…

      • Rhoid Rager

Too much logic here today. That has to stop. Period.

    • Haystack

Almost all of the bad things we associate with heroin are side-effects of the drug war. People OD, for example, because street drugs are so unpredictable in quality.

The DEA is like an old-timey doctor, trying to treat your flu with leeches and purgatives.

      • craig cadolowitz

except in this case the doctor is causing your ailment with one hand and slapping you with the other

Opiates are narcotics, but meth is a stimulant. I don’t think that meth could be substituted by any “naturally derived” drugs.

” . . . The average user does not live longer than two to three years.”

Yes, but it’s a quality two-to-three years, characterized by throbbing boils, burning infections, the stench of your own rotting carcass and the contempt of everyone around you.

All in all, it’s the zombie experience come to life.(?)

      It’s time for target practice, I say…

I’m currently discussing a brand new show with Vince Gilligan called
“Krokodil Tears.” Because crystal meth now looks downright quaint in comparison.

Krokodil is another of god’s judgements, just like aids. We need more police and prisons. Maybe capital punishment would deter people from drug use.

    • Anarchy Pony

Someone out there doesn’t get sarcasm.

      • emperorreagan

        A lot of people, apparently.

        • Anarchy Pony

As far as I can tell, roughly half of the population(if not more) are utterly immune to sarcasm, parody and satire.

      • Heath

Shhhhh your going to out our holiest of holies prison industrial complex whipping boy…

    • AmaterasuSolar

Or… AIDS was Human created, and We KNOW Krokodil is. Maybe the result of psychopaths and not some deity, eh?

      • emperorreagan

Baby Jesus invented Krokodil and channeled the blessed recipe to Paul in 2 Corinthians 1:12-24. If one converts the text to binary and hexadecimal then overlays the resulting sequence and follows the directions for the paint-by-numbers connect the dots interpretation Paul gives in Acts, then you end up with a cartoon depicting the way one would manufacture Krokodil.

I really hate not being able to upvote more than once.

      • Anarchy Pony

Is it not impossible that said deity is a psychopath?

        • kowalityjesus

I don’t know…The way God created the Universe, I sort of imagine Him as the original inventor of everything (even human inventors are just discovering the sploits of space-time), and everything being potentially useful for His glory. So in effect he knew it would be possible for humans to get high off this shit when he formulated the laws of physics, or maybe God is actually learning as we individually permutate reality.

Tell me more of your mythical, imaginary friend

        • AmaterasuSolar

I suppose, though I am inclined to see Consciousness as “God,” co-creating the Now. I also believe We could co-create a whole hell of a lot BETTER on this planet.

Police and prisons are NOT the solution!! People who have addictive personalities need programs to help them “deal” with their UNHEALTHY addictions…find ways of using that energy for something more beneficial…find ways of expressing themselves so that they are not as likely to turn to poisons to “forget who/what they are.” But this society has nothing like that…not really. Sure, there are recovery programs, but those don’t work very well for a large majority of the time. All I know for sure, is we DON’T need to cram more and more people into prisons for THIS reason!!!

    • Janice Burdick

P.S. Also, it’s people like YOU, emperorreagan, who are the TRULY crazy people on this planet…you and your STUPID judgmental outlook on everything…using “god” as an excuse for your warped little belief system. I TRULY doubt you would ever have heard JESUS say we should take people who are SICK, and cram them into some prison cell or put them in the electric chair!!! So just SHUT UP you friggin moron.

      • emperorreagan

Jesus mostly sends me text messages. He only has a 500 minute cell phone plan and doesn’t like to waste it. Unlimited texts and data though!

Any good pics to share? I only see him in my french toast…

      • Anarchy Pony

        You must be new here.

    • Liza Salisbury-Pierce

yes, more police & prisons. we need more non-violent crimes punishable by imprisonment. we already spend somewhere in the neighborhood of 3 times more to incarcerate someone for a year than we do to educate a person in a year. what we need is better education & social revolution. drug abuse is a social issue, not a law enforcement problem

      • emperorreagan

Jesus Christ. Not only did I lay it on thick, there are multiple comments here talking about sarcasm and jokes.
