Sometimes The Onion just nails it. I think that this is one of those times.

Via The Onion:

WASHINGTON—As President Obama continues to push for a plan of limited military intervention in Syria, a new poll of Americans has found that though the nation remains wary over the prospect of becoming involved in another Middle Eastern war, the vast majority of U.S. citizens strongly approve of sending Congress to Syria.

The New York Times/CBS News poll showed that though just 1 in 4 Americans believe that the United States has a responsibility to intervene in the Syrian conflict, more than 90 percent of the public is convinced that putting all 535 representatives of the United States Congress on the ground in Syria—including Senate pro tempore Patrick Leahy, House Speaker John Boehner, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, and, in fact, all current members of the House and Senate—is the best course of action at this time.

Satirical Comedy at it’s finest, especially when the mainstream picks up on these and runs them as factual from time to time. I’ve been on a RAW kick this week and it helps to be able to laugh about things like this so I don’t cry.

I propose we also send everyone from AIPAC, PNAC, DOHS, CIA, NSA, DOJ, CFR and DEA

“a new poll of Americans has found…the vast majority of U.S. citizens strongly approve of sending Congress
    to Syria.”

Y’missed out the bit where they should’ve added “so long as they don’t come back!”

I toyed with posting their other one on Syria: “John Kerry Costs US Defense Industry $400 Billion.”

I bet he’s in so much trouble for letting that diplomatic solution slip out.

535 representatives are 0.0000015% of the population
    duly elected and therefore
a much more important vote than that of the 90%

    this satire also points out
that we the sheeple are being held hostage by 537 elected officials
who spend money like drunken sailors, literally
and abuse those whom they extort in the name of security, law & justice
and somehow wee the sheeple cower in the presence on a small minority
    with guns
when according to their own propaganda
    wee could vote them out
