Can Weed Help You Deal with Your B*llsh*t Day Job?

musicworship1Now, the following story isn’t something I’m proud of. Truth be told, reading about Graham Hancock’s Giving Up the Green Bitch ordeal was sort of eye opening for me, not in the “pot can lead to bad things sort of way”, but moreover in the, “wow, Graham used to smoke way more weed than I ever have” way. Kind of a warning in all honesty. If I didn’t have to work a day job like Graham, I could probably quite easily fall into the smoking-all-day-every-day trap that he found himself ensnared in. As a matter of fact, that’s how I roll on the weekends, but you know, on a daily basis I have to work boring ass jobs to support myself and smoking at work has always struck me as both a waste of weed and a high. Because of this, I typically don’t blaze up until like 5pm during the work week.… Read the rest

Police Attacked by Blood-Covered Boy With Superhuman Strength at ‘LSD Party Gone Bad’

38419428LSD? Several of my Twitter followers said that it was more likely PCP or Bath Salts. What say you, psychonauts of Disinfo?

Via the Marin Independent Journal:

Three young people were arrested and hospitalized, one with injuries, Sunday morning in the wake of what officials described as “a Mill Valley LSD party gone bad.”

Southern Marin Fire paramedics responded around 7:30 a.m. to a 911 call reporting a 16-year-old boy having a seizure at a residence in the 100 block of Reed Boulevard, said Marin County sheriff’s Lt. Doug Pittman.

When the paramedics tried to get in, another 16-year-old boy at the entry gate covered with blood attacked them with what they later described as “superhuman strength,” refusing to let them in, Pittman said. Marin County sheriff’s deputies arrived within minutes to help, Pittman said.

The deputies were confronted by other partygoers, including a combative young girl, and called for backup.

Dr. Melba Ketchum Reveals More Bigfoot Proof

Melba Ketchum’s last batch of Bigfoot evidence received a lukewarm reception, to put it very mildly, and now she’s back with more.

Via Unexplained Mysteries:

The Sasquatch Genome Project has revealed DNA test results along with several new pictures and videos.

Funded by businessman Adrian Erickson, the five-year $500,000 study has sought to find definitive evidence that an unknown species of hominid is stalking the forests of North America.

In a new reveal this week Dr Melba Ketchum and her team have announced long-awaited DNA test results which appear to indicate that Bigfoot is neither human nor ape but a cross between the two.

“We want people to understand this is a serious study,” said Ketchum. “This creature does not follow general rule. What it does do is very different. We think it is human-hybrid. That is our theory.”

The group claims to have documented the behavior of two of the creatures in Kentucky and believes that there are thousands of them all across the United States.

Uncle Sam Shuts Down: The State Is Out Of Date

State out of dateTiming doesn’t get much more appropriate than this. On Oct 1st, the very day the US government grinds to a standstill, my book, The State Is Out of Date – We Can Do It Better, is released in its Kindle edition by Disinformation Books (special shutdown price: $2.99!).

Could the US be experiencing a dress rehearsal for its own eventual failure as a sovereign state? This slight taste of what would happen if Washington’s credit line ran out is the reason banks receive ransoms to prop up, for a little longer, a clearly unsustainable financial system. It is well to remember that throughout history states have failed, every one of them, eventually.  The Romans never thought their might would crumble; Hitler expected 1000 years; the Brits trickled away their greatness; the sprawling Soviet Union imploded almost overnight. The US…?

Is there an alternative – something more real and effective than changing faces and tweaking the knobs and levers of power?… Read the rest

Rest Easy, ‘Murica: Shutdown Doesn’t Stop Feds From Opening New NSA Center

eGuA25bLAWDon’t worry, loyal citizens: The NSA is still here to stalk love interests, read your mail, listen in on your conversations and otherwise keep acting like a psycho ex-girlfriend/boyfriend.

Via Information Liberation:

The so-called “government shut down” and the furloughing of thousands of non-essential federal employees has not prevented the opening of a $2 billion dollar NSA spy center in Utah which will snoop on Americans’ private emails, Google searches and phone calls.

As we highlighted yesterday, the shut down will only affect the tiny amount of services government provides that Americans actually like.

Rest assured, TSA grope downs, VIPR checkpoints, drone attacks, SWAT team raids, tax collection, torturing terrorists at Guantanamo Bay, arming jihadists in Syria and running guns to Mexican drug dealers will all continue unimpeded – as will NSA domestic spying.

Although the NSA itself refuses to confirm it, to all intents and purposes the agency’s mammoth new spy center in Bluffdale, Utah “may be open already,” according to the Denver Post.

Jellyfish Cause Shutdown At Massive Swedish Nuclear Power Plant

jelly

The New York Times reports on how the world ends:

In an episode that evokes B-grade sci-fi movie plots, but actually reflects a continuing global problem, nuclear engineers in Sweden have been wrestling with a giant swarm of jellyfish that forced the shutdown of the world’s largest boiling-water reactor.

The plant’s operator said that a huge cluster of moon jellyfish clogged the cooling water intake pipes at the Oskarshamn nuclear power plant on the Baltic Sea coast, forcing the complex’s 1,400-megawatt Unit 3 to shut down.

Nuclear power plants are often placed next to large bodies of water, so jellyfish clogs are a recurring problem. The plant had a similar episode in 2005.

The Oskarshamn nuclear power plant uses the same technology employed at Japan’s Fukushima Daiichi nuclear complex, where a powerful earthquake and tsunami in 2011 caused the worst nuclear disaster since Chernobyl.

Home of Author of Bible-Inspired Erotica Vandalized

2013-08-20-GenesisDefloweredCoverMEDIUMLooks like Harlem has its own Martin Luther

Via DNA Info NY

The Harlem author of a book of Bible-inspired erotica got a negative review last week — in the form of vandalism on the steps of his 123rd Street home.

Matthew Stillman, writer of the book “Genesis Deflowered,” found red graffiti reading “blasphmy,” misspelled, on the bottom step of his brownstone early Friday morning.

“I think someone is angry and lashed out,” said Stillman, a former television and film producer who reported the graffiti to the 28th Precinct which classified the incident as a case of criminal mischief.

Stillman, 40, said he has received hate mail about the book published in August since he appeared on Fox News earlier this month.

“You’re still my enemy, but lucky for us…the Bible says to love your enemies,” one piece of mail read.

Stillman defended “Genesis Deflowered,” which is written in the flowery English of the 17th century, and said he didn’t intend to degrade the Bible, which he said mentions at least 500 implied sexual situations in Genesis alone.

Federal Marijuana Hearing Victim of Government Shutdown

ST-3-bud

Published a day prior to the legislative temper tantrum:

Politico:

One of the first victims of a government shutdown may be a congressional hearing on marijuana laws.

The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee’s Subcommittee on Government Operations is scheduled to hold a hearing Wednesday on the White House’s drug control policy “in the wake of the DOJ’s decision not to enforce federal marijuana laws in states that have legalized it,” the panel said in a statement. “This hearing will also explore the effects of legalization, including the social costs of increased marijuana use.”

But if there’s no agreement on a federal budget, the hearing will be postponed, the committee said.

Oh, and marijuana isn’t legal while the feds are doing their thing, (although I think maybe a little weed might help on Capitol Hill).
