Clown Spooking Northern Irish City Turns Himself In To Police

clownTerrifying harlequins inexplicably haunting sleepy UK towns has officially reached epidemic status. The BBC reports on the latest, the self-proclaimed Carrick “Killer Clown”:

A clown has turned himself in to the police after alarm was raised among frightened parents in County Antrim. Mysterious pictures online of a clown and a balaclava-wearing sidekick have caused a stir in the town.

Police said they started an investigation after receiving reports from parents that their children were frightened of the clown. The mystery man, who calls himself the Carrick “Killer Clown”, contacted the police following the appeal to apologise for any distress.

    I find it interesting how this entire memetic archetype of the evil clown really started with one very fucked-up individual:John Wayne Gacy; the rest has been pop culture observation and assimilation, at least in my opinion.
