Presenting Assassination Market: The Bounty Killer Crowdfunding Website

assassinationForbes on a new site that is aiming to become the Kickstarter of murder:

The website Assassination Market is a crowdfunding service that lets anyone anonymously contribute bitcoins towards a bounty on the head of any government official–a kind of Kickstarter for political assassinations.

According to Assassination Market’s rules, if someone on its hit list is killed–and yes, Sanjuro hopes that many targets will be–any hitman who can prove he or she was responsible receives the collected funds.

In four months, six targets have been submitted by users, and bounties have been collected ranging from ten bitcoins for the murder of NSA director Keith Alexander and 40 bitcoins to 124.14 bitcoins targeting Ben Bernanke, chairman of the Federal Reserve. At Bitcoin’s current exchange rate, that’s nearly $75,000 for Bernanke’s would-be killer.

Sanjuro’s believes that if Assassination Market can persist and gain enough users, it will eventually enable the assassinations of enough politicians that no one would dare to hold office.

This is where Cheney’s Abu Ghraib and Obama’s drone assassinations program inevitably leads.

Goodbye civilization, hello bellum omnium contra omnes.

  • Anarchy Pony

They do know that Ben isn’t going to be in charge of the fed much longer right?

    • InfvoCuernos

It’ll have to be a revenge assassination.

      • Anarchy Pony

        Waste of time and bitcoins.

        • DeepCough

          And $75,000 is chump-change anyhow.

          • Anarchy Pony

I dunno, I will hunt a motherfucker to the ends of San Andreas for $9000 on GTAV.

          • DeepCough

Well, here in the real world, gas costs real money!

          • InfvoCuernos

Ya, and Bernaki is one of the reasons why it is the way it is.

        • InfvoCuernos

Like a government job, you have to do it because it needs to be done, the money is just a small consolation(LOL “money ain’t everything” seems like a poetic justification to assassinate this guy.)

  • Calypso_1

If such a market were actually operational the only actors with these capabilities: executive, exfiltrative & anonymity preserving would be those cultivated by the system itself. Simply another tool for Deep State power able to define both internal targets, fall guys, & market manipulation.

    • Anarchy Pony

That was my first thought as well.

      Lt. Kerrigan reporting!
      Think’n the same thing!
      I read ya!

    • Craig Bickford

      Well said.

    • InfvoCuernos

      Maybe its a recruiting tool.

      • Calypso_1

        Give it a try.

        • Anarchy Pony

          After you.

          • Calypso_1

My Faustian measures have already been made.

        • InfvoCuernos

more like an intelligence test-seems like as bad an idea as buying drugs off the interwebs.

    • kowalityjesus

“militia being necessary to the security of a free State….” there’s some kind of ninja capable of getting away with this, but not for 124 bitcoins! For evil Fed shills, what’s the incentive for selling your soul if you don’t even get to enjoy your earth-life?

  • Simon Valentine

למה לעשות אתה תבואו החוצה ואת קו למעלה עבור קרב
בבוקר אני לא פלשתי ואת הם אתה לא משרתים של שאול

There was a 419 phishing email similar to this a few years ago which claimed to be from the Global Assassination Bureau and said there was a contract out on you. But as it was their 50th anniversary they had a one time offer so that you could reverse the hit and have your alleged enemy double crossed and killed instead.

Just send us your credit card details etc etc

At least I hope it was a scam…

  • Dino

I’m just surprised after reading this article that the far reaching government hasn’t shut this down yet. Its not like they don’t have the means to do it.

  • Ed Cichon

Absolutely ridiculous. I’m sure these people are the ones railing against the oncoming “police state” and yet all this will do will make stricter security measures come even faster and harder.

You want positive change? Look to Gandhi and Martin Luther King, Jr. Nonviolent resistance is proven to work to bring about some semblance of positive change while violence just encourages more violence.

    • sonicbphuct

Not that I completely disagree, however, non-violent resistance is not a “proven” method to bring about positive change. What most people don’t realize is the underlying premise to non-violence, namely: non-existence is better than forced existence. As a friend of mine once told me regarding his “soviet dissident” parents, “If Gandhi went up against Stalin, Stalin would have just shot him in the face.”

Non-violence as a mechanism for change is dependent on the “civility” of the oppressor. One must make the conscious choice that to continue life under the status quo is worse than death, and further, that to contribute to the status quo through violence is worse than tacit acceptance or death.

    totally not the FBI.

Yeah I loved the one where the get the eager greedy sap to narrate all of Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy…. !
