the remarkable component of a human conversation

one point, two points, three points, four
how they graph and so much more
which battle is the true one war
    information’s vision of a score
like the music we could be

a resource with a counter tree
one war, two wars for peace three
    people peace three versus ww1
    trench idea manifestations fun
arms of what never was nor won
    nouns with no connection, hun
    as false as silence screaming
equal to lack of what it’s needing
but only as another sand beast in a jar
so ouija, so genie, so needy
    algorithms all greedy-breedy
answers so obvious you can’t quite see me
    like looking at the sun
the black hole that it was and won
    upon a senseless culture
    backwards, inside-out, adulture
    thieving another p$$ce
i art the god you won’t release

Also, there is a danger of ignoring Russia Today ending the Kiev live stream to serve and protect their masters in Moscow.

    • Can you provide a link of what you’re referring to?

As much as I want to like Abby Martin, and what she does, I just can’t help but be put off by her for some inexplicable reason.

RT cut off the live stream to downtown Kiev last night at about 9:30 EST when things were getting hairy on the streets again. And it hasn’t been turned back on since. I posted the link in the last Disinfo post covering Kiev.

Oh, and it’s going off as we speak right now: (working link to follow from moderated purgatory).

I know how you feel re: Abby Martin, though I can explain it: for me, it’s the constant, smug, narcissistic, sarcastic rhetorical questions. It’s like her only point of contact with journalism is Rachel Maddow, so rather than face the scary prospect of developing a genuine voice for herself she just apes the most obnoxious aspects of a well-known inspiration.

Well, either that or she really IS that much of a self-righteous, smarmy, and uncharismatic blowhard. She would be neither the first nor the last person to be born with stunning good looks and allow them to substitute for developing an appealing attitude to match.

The weird part is that I am, personally, VERY MUCH smug, condescending and (in some ways) narcissistic, so I probably shouldn’t be holding it against someone else when they share my foibles… but I also have the good sense not to play at being a reporter (see, there’s that narcissism!).

        • Thank you for the thoughtful (and self-aware) response. What you described about Ms. Martin is what bothers me too, I just couldn’t put my finger on it for some reason. But that’s it. And it creates the feeling (for me anyway) that she’s not *reporting objectively* but merely doing a live op-ed piece.

Frankly I don’t find her to be that great looking, but that’s because I’m not crazy about skinny women.

After some reflection, i feel I should clarify that I do not, in any way, personally dislike Ms. Martin. She could be a wonderful person in her private life, I wouldn’t know, and almost certainly never will. Neither do I begrudge her physical appearance, which I feel can be quite fairly described as “conventionally beautiful” by contemporary Western standards, in any way. She was born looking the way she does, for better or for worse, and to hold that against her is entirely unfair.

I do still maintain that I find her on-camera persona to be grating, and by many of the aforementioned specifics of my criticism.

          • Not trying to be a dick, but I really appreciate your posts that are actually intelligible.

          • VaudeVillain | Jan 27, 2014 at 7:54 pm |

            Thanks!… I think?

Do you mean to say that you appreciate the comments I make which are intelligible, as opposed to the ones I make which are not; or that you appreciate the comments I make which are intelligible, as opposed to other people’s which are not?

I could easily believe either, just note quite sure how you meant to be parsed ;).

          • The ones you post that are intelligible, as opposed to the ones you post that make no sense whatsoever.

A sensible view in application towards all.

          • VaudeVillain | Jan 27, 2014 at 8:19 pm |

            Ah, fair enough.

I promise to keep making both.

    • Same thing happened when the Syrian Civil War started to break out. The commentary is also biased. Not surprising, considering the source of their funding.
I’m not an ends-justify-the-means-and-intent guy, but maybe it’s not such a bad thing. Our visceral reaction to Syria almost got us into another war in the Middle East. In fact, it was Russia that saved Obama from his own “red line.” The prevalence of neo-fascism in austerity imposed Europe and the mostly right-wing nature of these riots make me concerned Ukraine may be a similar case.

  3. YO ALL,

    • Real talk, yo. All caps makes you look like an idiot. Fo-sho-do!

      • YO HOMER,

        • Good luck.

        • I would totally vote for the Three Stooges. Political disagreements would be quickly settled by slapping and eye-poking and their terms would last less than 20 minutes.

I’m going to take a shot at summarizing this without even watching it:

The danger in ignoring Ike’s warnings is PRECISELY THIS FUCKING MOMENT IN U.S. AND WORLD POLITICS.

    Am I close?
