Neşe Lisa Şenol: Psychedelics in the Humanities

Neşe Lisa Şenol gives a brilliant thirty-five minute lecture on the importance of psychedelic research in the social sciences and humanities. Neşe makes some avid points, such as riding the “Psychedelic Renaissance” to infiltrate academia, and finding a precedent for psychedelic studies in Queer Studies.

“Queer is whatever is at odds with the normal, the legitimate, the dominant,” she quotes from David M. Halperin’s Saint Foucault.

Grant Morrison’s Supergods even gets an honorable mention.

Also of interest for the curious reader is the recommendation of Poetic Vision and the Psychedelic Experience, which Neşe rightly points out isn’t reducible, or limited to, taking psychedelics.

Happy viewing.

the word queer is another attempt to equate a myth mistaken for a given, acquired, holiness, good, evil, basic, etc., so let’s make it simple – it is tautology that myth is had by no one, but that abuse is sprouted from it is conditional and niche market deception i.e. pathetic character charades of false lives and pseudo-sacrilegious pet-rocking and rock-petting circus. with induction. and more lies. batteries sold separately.

    it is quite simple.
    stop being a bastard.
    obey. disobey. know.
stop interpreting and achieve the myth.
how many holy men were false and how many heretics were true, and who cares.
and now you’ve heard it from a Valentine. add it to the list? hilarious.

standards, normalcy, legitimacy, and dominance are not known, they are not had or given – they are questions studied, they are vague assumptions either become circular rhetoric or infinite chase – game, idea, society, cult, crime, and none of this. try out the fact that you bow and you will continue to do so until, for instance, i demand that you bow to me. yet have you never bowed? do you see visions of virgins of the undefined stupidity plundering their own empty spaces and wonder of a hypocrite/witch hunt? you will know when you bow. and you also will not. certainty is null, and hardly even that, if at all.

discussion concerting parallelisms between thermodynamics and “protestant”, anyone? “it’s not circular reasoning, it’s Chinese rings!” >.<

(sigh) a fond ambition, but doomed. The heart of the humanities, of liberal arts and sciences as a whole – is critical inquiry. Not self-accredited ‘genius.’Psycheliosophy is averse to unscripted questions. Doesn’t like cross exam; an evasive witness. Its pat answer to any cogent question, turns out to be defensive dismissal: “You haven’t had the experience, so you can’t understand – and therefore have no ground to question.” That’s its bottom line, its trump card, when played out. Doomed by its own intellectual poverty, fooled by its own ‘wow am I brilliant’ act.
