Are LA Gangbangers Fighting in Syria?

Via CNN:

Two men claiming to be Los Angeles-area gang members have posted a video showing them firing rifles in Syria’s civil war, apparently fighting on behalf of President Bashar al-Assad’s regime.

In the profanity-laced video, the two men fire rifles from behind a cinder-block wall at “enemigos” — enemies — though the camera never shows an enemy in the distance. The two men often refer to “gang-banging” and their “homies,” and one of them displays gang hand gestures and tattoos.

wtf is a westside armenian power gang?

“which side is der homeland on?”

      Its own.

“are these gang members CIA or FBI?”

Honestly: probably neither. Or maybe both. If the Right Hand knows not what the Left Hand does, is it really important which hand is or isn’t holding these two?

“wtf is a westside armenian power gang?”

As I understand it, Armenian gangs are a pretty big deal in California, in part because many of the poorer refugees from the genocide wound up there. Supposedly they have a special knack for getting along with both Latinos and White Supremacists. I’m not hip enough to the details of LA street gang identity politics to know what, exactly, the terms “Westside” and “Power” mean in this context.

“and shouldn’t that be of more concern than syriassly folks”

Depends on who you ask. I’m sure anyone in the direction they are firing assault rifles is quite a bit more concerned about them than they are the Big Picture Politics of the Syrian conflict.

They are clearly just out in Blaine county somewhere. In a minute or two Trevor Phillips will come by and murder them both.

    Darwin. That is all:)

Reminds me of all those bored suburban kids heading overseas to take on Kony. The ghetto is a solid recruitment base for clandestine operations overseas… I don’t get intel briefings so how should I know who actually recruited them?

    Lol no. Fake.

what a couple of incompetent posers. how on earth did they end up there?
and by the way, it’s “homme” not “homie”

  • moogoogaipan

Hmm,The guys look to be wearing skull caps. Sun Valley gang? Pasadena?

  • VaudeVillain

I’m not denying that there are CIA and FBI fingers in the domestic drug trade… just saying that these two probably aren’t reporting directly to anyone of the sort.
