ISIS Threatens to Destroy Kaaba

kaabaIn a classic move of fundamental villainy, ISIS goes after the mamma jamma of religious targets.

Representatives of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIS) stated that they will destroy the Kaaba after they capture Saudi Arabia, APA reports quoting Turkish media that ISIS wants to take control of the city of Arar in Saudi Arabia and start operations there.

ISIS member Abu Turab Al Mugaddasi said that they would destroy the Kaaba in Mecca: “If Allah wills, we will kill those who worship stones in Mecca and destroy the Kaaba. People go to Mecca to touch the stones, not for Allah.”

Sounds like the US is doing a sweet job vetting the organizations they give money to.

    • Mr Grim

Over the long haul they (US govt) often seem to end up financing both sides in a lot of these conflicts (e.g. backing Saddam Hussein in his war against Iran, with not only muchos cash but also weapons, battlefield intelligence and training), so you know, swings and roundabouts…

It’s almost as if they’re TRYING to make things worse in a chaotic region of the world. But that couldn’t be it; we have a moral government… interested… peace… prosperity… well-being of all people…

And that Iran/Contra thing that nobody remembers. Hell, Reagan didn’t even remember it as it was happening.

    Was Mohammad an idolator?

(He did focus on the black stone, after all…)

    • Reasor

It would have been a way of establishing his bona fides, at the time. The Kaaba was a local relic, said to have been touched by Adam, long before Mohammed came onto the scene. Claiming the stone as a Muslim relic was a way of framing Islam as the continuation of the religious traditions of Adam’s god.

One does not simply walk into Mecca…

  • InfvoCuernos

What a great way to get the rest of the Islamic world against you! Goals like this will make sure that the US has allies in the Mideast. Almost makes you wonder if this could be a false felafel op.

I feel that this won’t endear them to other muslims…

Hey look, the Muslims are finally learning about the Pagan origins of their faith!

Yeah, Protestantism worked out well for the Christians, so I see this ending well…

ISIS is really an up and coming brand
are they planning an IPO soon?

  • cosmo ruckaz

i got to hand it to ISIS they sure know how to make an entrance to the collective consciousness and balls for this promise.

  • Gjallarbru

Wouldn’t it be funny that IF they blew it up, they found out the kaaba was really just a wooden frame with a thin veneer of stone on it…

Telling us to be on the lookout for al-Qaeda.
      Like, “Where?”

      I ain’t scared of al-Qaeda. I’m from Brooklyn, I don’t give a fuck about al-Qaeda.

      Shit. Motherfucking al-Qaeda.

Shit, did al-Qaeda blow up the building in Oklahoma?

Did al-Qaeda put anthrax in your mail?

Did al-Qaeda drag James Byrd down the street till his eyeballs popped out of his fucking head? No.

I ain’t scared of al-Qaeda, I’m scared of Al Cracker.”

  • Reasor

I imagine that if the story was legit, Al Jazeera would be carrying it. They’re not.

  • Roger Mexico

Actually, the source for this was a fake Twitter account by some random person claiming to be an ISIS member. Nothing to see here, folks.

  • VoxMagi

Given the rush by all states upset by the potential collapse of Iraq to find a way to stem the tide and salvage things…I’m pretty distrustful of anything ‘attributed’ to ISIS by other sources that can’t be confirmed.

Doesn’t mean they aren’t d-bags in my book…they are…just seems likely that they are and will remain a target for disinfo ops.

    • Reasor

I’m sticking to my pet hypothesis that this is all a proxy war between Saudi Arabia and Iran until evidence convinces me otherwise.

      • Mr B

Meaning that the KSA are violently seizing Iraq from their friend, the U.S. empire? Or that ISIS are secretly Iranian merceneries (strangely bombed by allied Russia)?

  • erte4wt4etrg

Kind of creepy that their name is ISIS, whats that about

If this is true, then the destruction and defiling of the Kaaba won’t stop ISIS.
