    I have a hard time sympathizing with this guy knowing that he damaged a piece of art belonging to the public. Am I a bad person?

      sympathy isnt going to make him feel better anyway, he wants to be heard, he wants there to be public outrage, he wants justice, and selfishly, he doesn’t care about a canvas with paint on it, even if someone is willing to give millions of pieces paper with ink on them for it. Of course it wasn’t rational, but this guy now has an audience, and it seems he was pretty desparate to have his story heard. What else can he do, make a court appeal?
